Hi Julietiff,

Under normal circumstances and in general, many women have a discharge that can last several weeks, some less, some more and some not at all. I had a TAH BSO and my Dr. instructed me to contact him right away if the discharge was bright red blood or if I soaked through more than one pad hour.

Your circumstances are unusual in that you experienced a pulmonary embolism and are on an ongoing blood thinner regimen. Please contact your Dr. to ask your question. Your Dr. should be aware of your symptoms and be monitoring them.

Best wishes and lots of s

I had pretty regular flow of vaginal bleeding after TVH 4/22 for 4 weeks almost to the day. I had been using a pad for the first 3 weeks, down to a liner the last week or so and last Night was the first night my panty liner had nothing on it. I didn't think it was ever going to end. I have been told that the bleeding can be expected for 4-6 following surgery.

Hang in there.

Hi, Julietiff. I had a TAH, am on coumadin (warfarin). Had light bleeding for a couple of weeks, then it was just enough to be annoying for about 2-1/2 weeks. Then it stopped. You had more done internally than I did, so perhaps you will have a bit more bleeding. As long as it's not heavy or bright red, you're probably doing okay.

discharge

I'm 2 months and a few days post and I'm still having a faint discharge with what looks like small scabs in it. I also passed a grey mucous looking something this morning. My abdomen has been sorer than usual for the last couple of days and so I called dr today. The nurse thinks its just the last of the stitches coming on out but to call Tuesday if I continue and let the dr take a quick look. She didn't act real worried about it. I was on blood thinner 2 years ago and take an asprin a day now so I don't know if that maybe is my problem.
