need some encouragement!!

I had my uterus out a year and a half ago and just had my ovaries both out on may 1. i am quite fearful that i wont be normal again. i had endo. and adhesions, so there was definitely reason for my pain. its just been such an ordeal. i have been doing better with an occasional pain pill maybe one a day and then went out of town for the weekend and came back crying from pain and emotions. i feel alone and that my family is tired of me complaining.. i will be 4 weeks post op and was told that the ovaries coming out was a real fast recovery ? am mostly afraid of maybe this pain wont go away. it also feels hurt when urinating

Hello,
Have you talked to your doctor about your pain? If not please do so. Perhaps you need to make an appointment to see him/her the reassurance you get may be worth it. The trip out of town may have been too much. Take it easy and pamper yourself. Everyone recovers at a different rate. I think you just need more time. Take care and feel better.

encouragement....

I am sorry to hear that you are having a rough time of this. I would call the doctor since you are having pain. Urinating should not be painful.

Keep searching the message boards. Surely there are posts that will be from people who are (or have been) in exactly the same situation as you are now.

Are you overdoing it?

Having your ovaries removed is like throwing yourself into menopause. That is probably where the excess emotions are coming from. Search the "hormone jungle"... site (one of the many links on the top of the screen). Maybe there will be something there for you.

You will get through this. Easier said than done, I know... but patience and prayer usually works for me.

I am so sorry that this is so hard on you right now! I had my ovaries removed at the time of my hyst so I do not know the recovery time with just ovary removal but I think 4 weeks is still early in the recovery process.

I just had adhesions removed and a hernia repair Apr 30 and I still get some pains from it. The sisters are right, everyone recovers at a different rate and it is not normal to hurt when you urinate. I also suggest that you get in touch with your Dr to see what is going on.

I know how hard it is to be thrown into menopause, as I am still suffering from terrible mightsweats and trying to find out why.

It is very hard for someone to understand what you are going through when they go by the text book recovery time and NOT everyone will heal that fast as ALL of the sisters here can tell you!! I know it feels like forever before you will feel normal again, and some of us have to accept that our bodies are not the same anymore, but we are all here for you and each other and I myself would not have made it through all of this without this site!!

I had my hyst 2 years ago and now am battling adhesions and bladder and bowel prolapse which will be surgery # 6 for me. Unfortunatly I can see future surgery for adhesions, I am very pesemistic and always prepare for the worst!!

Hang in there sweetie and know that you are definetly NOT alone!! We are all here for you and will do what ever we can to help you through this. Come and vent anytime you want and please keep us posted on what your Dr says.

's and prayers!!!

Some of what you're feeling could be hormone related. When the ovaries are removed your body is no longer producing hormones. Are you taking any hormone replacement? Read the articles at www.hormonejungle.com There is lots and lots of great information there. Perhaps you could print out some of the information and discuss it with your doctor.

I'm sending many s of support for you.

Oh (((((sweetie))))) I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time of it right now I still have my ovaries, so can't offer much insight where the ovary removal is concerned. However, I do know that we are all different and all recover at different rates. Also, your recovery often depends on how the surgery was performed.

I agree with the other posters: you should give your doctor a call and discuss the symptoms you've been having. The pain during urination could stem from an infection and, should it be an infection, should be attended to before it causes additional problems.

Sending lots of healing s your way. Please let us know how you're doing. We're here for you
