cyst on ovary???

I had a LSH the end of Jan.,kept both ovaries. I was feeling great, the best in yrs. Then all of a sudden the pain in my left side came back with a vengenous. I saw my family DR. and asked her to read my surgical report. Seems my left ovary has numerous cysts and was slightly enlarged. I wanted my Dr. to remove this ovary as I had problems with it in the past. He chose to leave it in. When I woke up from surgery he said everything looked fine. I had a CT scan yesterday and am waiting for the results. Could one of these cysts acted up again? I dread the thought of another surgery so soon. I got a taste of feeling good and I want it back. I wish he would have listened to me and taken out that ovary in the first place. Janet

cyst on ovary???

Hi Janet,

I'm so sorry you're having problems again! What a frustration!

I haven't had my LSH yet...June 6th...but my doc told me if my right ovary looks good he'll leave it in per my request but warned me that it could go cystic and I might have to have it removed later. My left has to go because it is very painful, large and cystic. So even if the ovary looked good at the initial surgery, my doc said it may have problems later and I would face another surgery. I hope this info helps you a little but I sure wish you weren't facing another surgery! Hang in there!

cyst on ovary???

Hi!

I have had several cysts on my ovaries over the years. The cysts I have had have "burst" on their own and been absorbed by my body. It was uncomfortable but not horribly painful. Your doctor will probably monitor and watch the cyst to see if it shrinks or bursts. Sometimes the cysts need to be removed...your doctor can best advise you on what to do. Take care.

I understand

Hi Janet,

I have had cyst on my ovaries since I can't remember when. My doctor constantly tells me thats quite normal for a women still in child bearing years, because my ovaries are still producing eggs. I have no idea what one has to do with the other.

Anyhow, my point is your not alone, I just went in to the doctors two days ago, and yet again both the ovaries are swollen with cyst. He refuses to remove them stating this is normal. I had no idea pain was normal.

Hang in there, And get better soon.
