Exploratory/mini-tummy tuck

I am having my surgery on June 5th. I have already had a Supracervical hyst. and a Lap. BSO. My doc wants to remove my cervix, adhesions and any other endo he finds. He says he needs to do the incision abdominally b/c the adhesions are located on my colon and intestines. When I asked him if he could fix my ugly c-section scar, he said he would basically be doing a mini-tummy tuck by taking out the old scar. I asked him about insurance and he said they don't normally have a problem paying for it b/c they don't have to know just "how much" scar tissue he's taking out! But when I was reading up on the TT surgeries on this site, it concerned me about my insurance.

By the way, my doc. says he is going to make sure I have an epidural before my surgery b/c he's concerned about my pain management postoperatively! How bad is the pain after all of the stuff I am going to have done?

Mini tummy tuck?! Sign me up!

I haven't had my surgery yet, so I don't know the answer, but I was intrigued by the mini-tummy tuck idea! I think that I will have to speak with my own doctor when I go in for pre-op on Monday. I'm going to tell him to feel free to remove all the scar tissue he can! I've had 2 c-sections, so there is plenty. I would love to have a flatter tummy after all is said and done.

My surgery (TAH) is Tuesday. I am also having an epidural for 48 hours. Sounds okay to me, although from past experience I know that walking around really helps.

I'm sorry that you are having to go through this when you have been through so much already. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Take care of yourself!

Nancy
