sore legs and feet?

Hi all!
I am almost 4 months post op and am taking the estrogen shot, (bio identical). I am very tired at night, but the worst thing is the foot pain.

If I walk around for any amount of time my feet and legs get very sore. It feels like I have been on my feet non stop all day and I may have only been on them for a few.

Has anyone else had this? Is it the estrogen? I am not sure what is happening.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Lorelei,
I don't know if you feel sore because of taking estrogen because I am not taking any hormones. But I can tell you that I also feel pretty sore by the end of the day especially my back. I think we have to remember that we are recovering from major surgery and our bodies have taken a real beating. I have read that it could take a year before you feel back to normal. I get really tired and my energy level really goes kaput especially after a day at work. I am almost 3 months post op. I wish you the best and hope you feel better. Maybe you should call your doctor and ask him if the estrogen is making you feel sore.
Hugs, Diana

sore legs and feet?

Thanks for your reply, but it is not my back. In fact my back feels better then it ever has before. I just think it's odd to have my feet and legs hurt all of the time. I guess I didn't really say that before. They hurt all the time and it's just that by the end of a day they are killing me. I didn't have this before the surgery, so I wonder if it's the surgery or the estrogen.

I feel great really, a little tender on my belly, but nothing that I really notice. I will talk to my doctor though and see what she says.

Now if I could just stop sleeping so much. If it's not one thing it's another.

sore legs and feet?

My DR had me start taking one "baby" aspirin a day. It really did help. However, I feel sooo much better without HRT than I do with it. My DR says that I need it for heart health, bones, etc., etc., because I'm so young. I am now taking Estratest HS every three days and I feel awful again. Legs and feet are swelling up and killing me again. Aspirin is not helping right now. When I first complained to my DR over the phone, she wanted to see me right away to make sure it was nothing serious. You may want to call your DR to just to be safe and to rule out blood clots and such. I am researching some natural alternatives. I read about something called pycnogenol. I found a website by going to the search engine in MSN that is very enlightening. I THINK the brand name is Flavay. It seems to be a wonder "drug". I am going to try to find this and start taking it this weekend. Something to think about. Please don't begin taking anything without checking with your DR first.

Hi Lorelei,
Are you feeling any better yet? Have you spoken to your dr? I hope you're feeling better. I laughed when you said you sleep too much because I have a problem not sleeping enough. Oh well it could be worse. At least our surgery is over and we are on the road to recovery.
Hugs, Diana

No I have not spoken to my doctor yet. Maybe this week. I've been busy and haven't got around to it. Stupid huh? I complain and then don't call. I have to do it though I don't like it.

Estrogen causes water retention and swelling. Also Estrogen lowers your Thyroid Hormones which can lead to foot and leg pain...sounds like too high of a dose for you.

Yes, this is what I thought too, but the Dr. and nurse who is also on the shot responded with a "That's wierd!" answer when I told them. Sometimes I think they think we are imagining things. It's frustrating. Anyway I am going to call and ask for a switch. The problem is my shot doesn't wear off until the end of the month.

I will be glad to figure this one out for sure. I am tired of being tired and achey.

lorelei, I had a TAH/BSO almost 2 years ago, and I don't take hormones of any kind. (med reasons) I ache all over, all the time too. Believe it or not, the one thing thast is giving me some relief is exercise. I joined a gym 3 weeks ago and i really think I feel better.
Best of luck to you.
Maggie
