Baths

Hello Everyone,

I had a TAH, kept ovaries, on May 15. I am feeling much better now that I am over 3 weeks post op. I was wondering about baths? My doctor didn't tell me when I could take one. Thanks for the input! Cori

This is something that you need to ask your Dr about as each Dr. has differant opinions and what may be okay for one person isn't okay for another. Give the office a call and ask what his "rule" is on baths after surgery. Don't want to risk getting an infection of any kind.

My Dr. said no baths until after the six week mark. The risk of infection is too high.

Ask your doc. There are many variables in how he did the surgery...

Mine said I could take a bath (6" of water)..so I splash around like a duck in a pond!

I was aslo a TAH on May 14th. I was told no baths until my check up on June 30th. Thats 6 weeks. I wouldn't risk infection.

My dr. also said no bath for 6 weeks with my SAH which for me is TODAY. Well, I was so excited at the prospect till I got a good look at the tub. YUCK! Apparantly no one cleans it but me and being the good princess I was, I havent done it. Well, I certinatly don't feel like doing it now. Guess I'll be waiting a little longer. Bummer! Moral of story, try to get someone to clean it when ever you do get your oaky dokey so you won't be disappointed like Me.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I am so looking forward to a nice hot bath. I still have 2.5 weeks to go. I guess I will be waiting and yes, I will get my wonderful dh to clean it for me!! Thanks again, Cori
