surgical menopause

im having problems 8 days post op-my im on hormone patches because of hot flashes and mood swings, he said something about menopause and i was wondering if any one has had this problem?

Are you saying your are on hormone patches and are still having hot flashes? If so, at day 8 they (the hormones) may not be in your system enough yet. If the flashes didn't subside in about another week I would call the Dr. you may need a higher dose. Hormone replacements usually need adjusting .

If you had your ovaries removed you are in surgical menopause yes. It is still menopause, just quicker then the years *normal* menopause takes to occur.
