pain before bowel movement

I'm still have to self catheter but I seem to be peeing better every day but now I have horrible pressure pain just before having a bowel movement. The odd thing is I didn't have any pain until about 1 1/2 weeks after my surgery for cystocele/rectocele repair. The pain seems to subside right after the bowel movement which is usually not hard. I did have hemorrhoids but they would hurt me constantly not just prior to BM. I take a warm bath after and it seems to soothing. The pain is unbelievable and I've had 4 kids normally and this pain is much worse but shortlived. Anybody else have this?

Berg

So sorry you are now having this terrible pain- I do not have this problem but are your stools soft enough to cause no pain?? I still take some stool softeners on occasion so that I do not strain anything. Just and and I am sure someone will come along soon with some better suggestions. Feel better and a big for you!!

((((berg)))))) I'm so sorry you're dealing with yet another pain

I had rectocele repair at the same time as my hyst, but do not remember having this type of pain. I have no idea what could be causing it, but I do think that this is something you need to bring up with your doctor.

Sending lots of healing s your way. Hope you feel better real soon. Please keep us posted.

pain before bowel movement

I started having a pain before BM 3 months post from my TAH. I did not have any other procedure except the hysterectomy. At first I thought the pain was from overdoing it. I was traveling around doing things with the kids over spring break. I had already been extremely sore from a more recent two day trip and figured I overdid it again. This new pain, hurting 10 minutes and sometimes on and off for half a day before a BM lasted for a few months. I hardly get it anymore and it doesn't hurt as much as it did earlier. Mine was never as intense as labor, but it was not comfortable either. It was short lived when I would get them and gone once I had the BM, so I knew it was related to that. I never asked my DR about it. If it had remained uncomfortably intense, I probably would have been concerned. Hope this helps and it gets better soon for you. I'm 6 months post now. I did have a bowel obstruction when I was a child. I wonder if that is why my bowel was so touchy. I know my DR was a little concerned about my bowel history when I had the surgery. Seems to be better for now.
