Estradiol patch and pain

I was put on the estradiol patch in the hospital after surgury last Monday. It was on my right hip when I came home and once or twice last week when I rolled over on the hip where the patch was it hurt. I thought it was because I had also been given shots in that hip. I changed the patch today to my left hip and when I rolled over to get out of bed after a nap it hurt. It hurts when I press on the patch, like it is brusied. Has anyone else experienced pain with a hormone patch? I am going to call the doc. tomorrow and I'll let you know what she says.

Estradiol patch and pain

Hi! I'm glad you are going to talk with your DR about this. I haven't heard of pain from a patch. I think it's more likely to be related to other causes like the shots you received in the castle, but it should be checked out.

BTW, did you change the location when you put on the new patch? The patch should be put in a different place each time. If you didn't, it's OK this time, don't bother moving it now (it won't re-stick); just pick a new location next time.
s,
-Linda
