Surgery for Granulation tissue

HI, I have been having such terrible pain , especially during intercourse. I went to the doctor and he told me that i had scar tisse on my Vaginal cuff and part of it is filled with nerve endings.
He some times referred it to Granulation tissue, however I have never bled , it was just painful to the touch . He said I must have it cut out and then stiched back up . The problem I am having is he said he wanted to do it in his office. He explained that he would go in numb it with cream , then give me a needle to numb it some more , cut it off and the stich.(he said it was the size of a large pea, and thats why I didn't need to go to the hospital and have it done).Has anyone had this done to them in an office, and is it painful during or afterwards.I had my abdominal Hyster on 12/4/02

Surgery for Granulation tissue

Hi Patti,

My Dr. found granulation tissue on my vaginal cuff somewhere around my 9th post-op month. I was surprised as I hadn't had any symptoms. My Dr. treated it with silver nitrate in his office, though I didn't require a stitch. The treatment burned a little (not too bad) and then I had a yucky discharge for a couple of days after.

I've had to have several biopsies done in the office that did require local anesthetics as your Dr. is describing; first the topical numbing agent followed by an injection of a numbing agent. They weren't bad either...the injection was a bit uncomfortable for a few seconds and that was it.

Best wishes and lots of s

5 silver nitrate treatments

I have had 5 treatments and still have a discharge. Dr says when he does the bladder sling release on 7/22 he will do further treatment of the granulation. Has anyone else had this much trouble?

Surgery for Granulation tissue

Patti--

I was just wondering what became of you. Did you have the procedure done? I'm asking because I have just undergone my second silver nitrate treatment, the first one accomplished nothing. I have a centimeter of granulation and would like to know what my options are. I can't take this pain much longer. I hope to hear that you are doing better.

Thanks,
Nancy

Hi,

I just had my first silver nitrate treatment 2 days ago. I hope this works. I don't want to be on the granulation merry-go-round. It looks like so many have been on it. How does everyone take time to go to the dr so many times for all these treatments? I am sure the people at work would not believe this if I kept asking off to go get treated all the time. The drs need to get something figured out to do the surgery where they somehow can prevent this from occuring. Is it the way some of them stitch us up that makes it easier to get this? I know people who have had hysterectomies and none of them have had granulation. They never even heard of it.

Surgery for Granulation tissue

I have had two silver nitrate treatments. Dr said it is where the drain was placed. I don't have any pain, just a little discomfort. Looking forward to the day it is all over and Dr's visits are a thing of the past

Surgery for Granulation tissue

Hi Nancy,

Yes I had the procedure done. I must say the worst part of it was the needles to numb the area. I was very nervous, because like you I couldn't take the pain anymore, but I was so afraid this was going to hurt real bad. I went into his office ( I had taken some advil like he said before i went in), he put some lotion on the area first to kind of numb it before he gave me the needles. I'll tell you the truth, I thought the lotion would have numbed it more, because the needles hurt. But only for a sceond,it was a pinch and that was it. After that , I felt nothing, Thank God!!!!!
He had to cut out 3 growths and I felt nothing. That afternoon , and into the the night I felt some pain like cramps. but the next day I was fine. Today I feel great, and PAIN FREE ........
So I recommended it , I'm glad I did it , and wished I hadn't put it off. Good-Luck

Thank you Patti!

I am so glad to hear that you are free! I can't wait for that day. Thank you for the honest description of the procedure. I would be more than happy to put up with a momentary increase in pain in order to rid myself of this constant pain.

Sue - I don't know how I will manage these appointments once I go back to work either!

Melrose007 - I hope your day comes soon

Thanks all!

Nancy
