surg scheduled for august...any advice, words of wisdom, etc???

OK I have to admit I have never joined a "chat" before, but this seems like the place to start!! My doctor finally scheduled a hysterectomy for august w/repair of my bladder. I have been told for 10 years that a hysterectomy was likely (I am only 29 now!) but they are just now deciding it has to be done. I have been on Lupron, bc pills, have had 6 surgeries for endo, ovarian cyst, and had one ovary taken out a few months ago. All to no avail. I would just love to hear from some of you that the hysterectomy has helped solve the "pain" problems. My doctor has warned me there is the possibility that I may still have chronic pelvic pain when all this is done, so I guess I need some encouragement!! If this will help I believe it has to be worth the recovery right?? ;0)
Ok I probably rambled, but like I said I am new to this and a bit nervous thinking about the upcoming surgery recovery etc. Look forward to hearing from you!!

It's natural to worry if this will cure all thats been

ailing you. In my case I didn't have terrible pelvic

pain before my hyst. My docs. wife did. The hyst

alleviated some but not all as she hoped it would.

So I guess everyone is different, and your docs.

telling you straight up the honest truth. Im sure

others can tell you better than I that has actually

had this pain. As for a word of encouragement, it

wasn't as bad as a recovery as I had imagined it

to be.

its been wonderful

I had my hyst 3 weeks ago, the pain afterwords was easy... and since it has been so nice, no pressure, and no CRAMPS... the only thing I have had (but they left my overies) is a little pain in my overie and a little brest pain, but Im gussing thats just the normal hormonal thing!!!
its true, everyone is different, but everyone Ive known that has had this has come out the other side SO much better...
and the worst part.... is the WAITING!!!
Good luck.. Sheila
