testosterone didn't help sex drive, still having hot flashes, not sleeping, nausea and

Hey Ladies

I need your in put here please. I had tah/bso on 4/3, tried climara patch, estratest and estradiol and had terrible side effects. My dr sent me to a compound pharmacy. They put me on biest 2.5 mg at bedtime and progest 100 mg = 1 after supper and 1 at bedtime. I wasn't crying anymore and nerves were quite a bit better. BUT, still having terrible hot flashes, still dealing with the nausea and still not sleeping well at all. I didn't have any sex drive but after just having surgery figured it was just that I was still sore, but that seemed to get worse. I was put on testerone 1 mg on 6/19 which didn't help so I started taking 1 testosterone in the morning and 1 at bedtime. After just a few days of this I became very agitated --too much testerone. I went to get my hair cut this past Monday and had been noticing that my hair had changed, I asked the lady that does my hair if it was thinner or what, she said the texture had changed a lot and asked if I had thyroid problems. I had tsh after surgery and it was in the very end of low. Compound pharmacy took me off testosterone on 7/8 and put me on vinco's metabolic ignition and increased my progest from 200 mg to 250 mg. I hope somebody will take time to read this and give me your opinion. I would truly just like to be a NORMAL person and stop complaining. Has anybody tried the vinco's metabolic ignition and is anybody on this much progest and has anybody took testosterone and it not helped with the sex drive?????? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm on the compounded testosterone gel in an alcohol base which you apply to your thighs, hips, etc. Its 2mg/gm and I use 1/4 tsp. every other day because it speeds me up a little. It definitely helps with sex drive and orgasm but can take 3 months or so to really kick in. I don't know what that other stuff is. I can't get my progest right either, I open a prometrium capsule, 100 mg., and apply it to skin for 3 weeks a month but I thuink its too much. Joeanne

hon, and you have my sympathy since i'm one who has bouced around on hormones for a really long time! can you elaborate on your tsh being at "the very end of low"? my tsh was in the high normal (low thyroid) range so every dr i've seen said it was fine...i found a new dr who decided to treat it because of a bunch of other symptoms (i didn't have a huge weight gain, so i guess that through all the other dr's off). i feel so much better! she also ran some extensive hormone tests, which showed i was low on everything, and i would highly recommend finding a dr to perform these tests. ask your compounding pharmacy if they know of a dr who will do this. when you call dr's, ask if they will do detailed tests. i think some of us are just so hormonally messed up that we need a more comprehensive look/see. good luck hon and know that you are not alone in the

Buffie,
Unfortunately for some of us, it can take awhile to get things figured out. You may want to look at your method of delivery. I didn't do well on the patch, tried the compounded pills, than the troches and finally settled happily in on the creams. It can take some mixing and matching to find what is going to work best for you. Hrt is not a one size fits all. I guess that's why we call it a

I do think you should get the thyroid checked with the recent hair loss, and you should get more checked than just the TSH. There's a good article here and at the end of the article it tells you what the doc should test for http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsa...hp?s=&id=97225

One thing that really helped me was adding the supplements recommended here http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsa...hp?s=&id=97237

Hang in there Buffie, it can get better! There was a time that I really had to wonder, but I did make it the other side of the jungle.

thank you so much

Hey Ladies

Thank you so much for taking time to read my post. I went by the compound pharmacy today and got some ginger for the nausea and they mentioned trying a testosterone gel later instead of the capsules. My nerves are so jumpy lately but not giving up. Anyway thanks again for being there for me.
