Pain on left side

I am 3 weeks post op and am still having a little pain on my left side. It seems to be worse if my bladder or bowels are full. I've seen a few post on here about this, but haven't read anything about what was causing the pain. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks....

Pain on left side

Hi, I too am 3 weeks post-op. I know that for me, I will feel some pain in places like my hip bones??? Who would have thoutht that?? I think that if the pain continues you should consult your doctor. Have you had this pain in the area continuously?? Is it new?? Did you pull something?? UGH!! Best bet, call doc and take it easy!!

Pain on left side

I just called the doctor's office about some intermittent sharp, jabbing type pain I am feeling on my right side. (very low --like where ovary would have been). The nurse said that it is part of the healing process and many ladies have it. She said as long as it isn't constant and very painful or accompanied by fever, bladder/bowel dysfunction that I don't need to be seen. I am approx 3 weeks post op and the internal stitches are starting to dissolve so the ligaments and muscles will have to do all the work now.

It wouldn't hurt to check with your doctor though--just for peace of mind. I feel better now that I have called the office.

Good luck

Pain on left side

Count me in! 3 weeks also, and yes I have pain in my hips of all places! Did talk to doc, and he said normal for me as I also lost ovaries and tubes, and where the pain is is where they were, just feels like the hips! And oh, the swelly belly! Feel so bruised!
And the bladder, and the bowel.... Oh, will it ever end, LOL!!!

Take care,
Rhonda

Pain on left side

I shudder to think what our poor belly and insides went through during the surgery! Just the thought of a retractor makes me cringe. No wonder our poor bellies are feeling bruised and beat up. And the swelly belly---I have a feeling is with us for awhile. 6 weeks sounded like a long time pre-op---now I worry I won't be ready to go back to work. Time is going so fast yet the healing process is so slow--- Hang in there --we all will heal together.

Aches & Pains

I too had the achey pain on the left side right around 3 weeks -
had gone back to work part time the week before and even tho I sit at a desk, nurse said to consider sitting an activity. So I stayed home one entire day and just "laid low". Then continued to work half days from then on. Have just past the five week mark - feeling great and plan to work a full 40 hours this week!!! Pains - none!! Bowels working just like they used to. Still making sure that I get plenty of rest. DH is still being extremely helpful around the house and grocery shopping. And yes drinking lots of water is not a problem as it has been pushing 120 here in AZ!!!!

So hang in there Princesses!! The worst is over and as long as
you don't overdo it, each day will feel better and better!!!

Thanks to all who have been my support. Feels nice to be
assuring the "newer" princesses.

Pain on left side

Sore hip: One of my hips was sore after some of the surgeries I've had. My doctor has said it was because of the position I was put in. (don't think I wanna know).

Left Side: Mine I always described like I had run too much and had a stitch in my side. My doctor told me that's where he had done "a lot of work", and I was also feeling the ligaments being tied up real nice n tight.

I had that twinge for a good 6 months. Just off n on.

It'll all get better Princesses!! Hang in there.
