Anyone still sore & tired at 5 1/2 mos. post?

Hi ladies,

Is it just me or am I the only one still tired a lot? I work as a realtor, have two kids, a husband, and still fall into bed exhausted at 7 p.m. I just started walking ( I know, better late than never). My husband is so energetic I feel left in the dust most days as he heads out to have fun! How long until I get my strength back? I know exercise is critical but I'm too tired to exercise. I'm on vivelle dot .075
Thanks for any wisdom! You ladies are all wonderful!

Anyone still sore & tired at 5 1/2 mos. post?

I am 3 months post op and I still get sore and bloated and seem like I am always tired too. I think it takes longer than we were told to recuperate. I have a few good days then I get to hurting again. At least I haven't had to use the heating pad for 6 weeks now. I hope you feel alot better soon. Oh, I do walk as much as possible and do thin it has helped my recovery. Here in Arkansas though it is much to hot after 8:00 am to walk anywhere so I have to be an early bird.

Anyone still sore & tired at 5 1/2 mos. post?

Hi! I am almost 4 months post-op and am tired a lot too. Most evenings I'm just waiting for it to get dark so I can go to bed. I guess I think I shouldn't go when it's still light out. I have been walking every day for about 2 months. I started out at 1/2 hour a day and am now up to 4 miles/1 hour. I think that it helps. I had started walking evenings but most nights was to exhausted to even think about going out let alone walking. So now I walk every morning before going to work. I'm awake before 6:30 any way and have enough energy then to go walk. I don't know what will happen this fall when it will be dark and cold at 6:30. I also take a women's multivitamin and try to spend some time out in the sun each day. My doctor's nurse said it could take a year to really feel like my old self again. Not that my old self felt very good in the first place. Good luck on your continuing recovery.

Anyone still sore & tired at 5 1/2 mos. post?

I'm only 8 weeks post-op, but I seem to not be able to stay up very late. I've given up on seeing the end to any movies we rent and start after 6PM. And the swelly belly soreness still gets to me most evenings.

A lady I worked with had this surgery a couple of years ago. She told me and my DH that it was a year before she really felt totally healed and energetic. So I don't dispair when I have a rough evening. Besides, I'm not in any pain now even close to what I experienced before surgery!!!! Yay!!!!!

I'm 5 months post op. I never really experienced the tiredness much, but am still really sore sometimes. Still can't lean against a counter, press on my tummy, or lay on my tummy. Just takes time, I guess.

Anyone still sore & tired at 5 1/2 mos. post?

I am sorry that you are all feeling so badly this far into your recovery, but it sure made me feel better about where I am at. I am 3 months post and have been back to work for almost two months. I am still swollen and sore and when I tried to go back to the gym last week I became so swollen that I couldn't fit in anything!! So frustrating, I had no idea it would take this long to recoop...I would still do it again in a heartbeat. Hope you are all feeling "normal" again soon.

Anyone still sore & tired at 5 1/2 mos. post?

At 5 months I was still so tired. Had colonoscpy, dr found polyps, helped my energy level go up more. Felt so tired, could fall asleep so easily. Never saw the end of a movie or show. Felt so frustrated. Was taking vit, Now after 1 yr. my energy level is back to normal and I feel so great. Even had someone I hadn't seen for 4 months compliment me on how great I was looking

So sisters it does get better and better just take care of yourself and let your body heal properly. You just had major surgery and it does take time (I know we are all so impatient and want it now) I had to learn to wait also.

It's good to see someone else say something about not being able to lean on counters. I can't either. Across the incision line feels like a scrape or burn would feel, and it feels like that also across my whole tummy area! I have more discomfort now that right after, and certainly before, surgery! It's minimal, I suppose, but it's more than I had before surgery
