Any more tests????

have had colposcopy,loop excision and biopsy and now been told stage 1a cervical cancer and have to have total hysterectemy on 6th aug. Pre-op 1st. Do they do any more tests before the operation or do they know how bad it is by what they have done so far??

Most likely you won't have any more tests before the hyst. Sounds like your docs have been very thorough with their testing and diagnoses. The next information you get on stage and grade will come from the pathology report from the surgery.

Are you seeing a gyn/oncologist? They are the specialists in the field and might be the best choice for you surgery, as they are specially trained for this type of treatment. You might want to ask if the surgeon will remove some lymph nodes to ensure that there has been absolutely no spread. It is very unlikely that any spread has occurred at such an early stage, but it's a common procedure that might help set your mind at ease.
