vaginal cuff cellulitis @ 4 weeks

I went for my four week checkup and the dr discovered I had cellulitis of the vaginal cuff. He prescribed an antibiotic.

I am supposed to be off for another 2 weeks. The short term disability company still hasn't reviewed the info to approve it for 6 weeks. They only approved 4 weeks. I have to call them to figure out if they are going to approve the additional time.

I feel worse now than I did at 2 and 3 weeks. I go back to the dr next Friday to see how things are progressing.

Hi,

I'm sorry you got this cellulitis thing. I just got treated for the granulation on the vaginal cuff. I hope your insurance comes through for you so you take more time to recover.

Take care of yourself and wishing you a fast and healthy recovery.

Good news, I don't have to go back to work until August 13. If the dr wants me off longer than the short term carrier will need to review it again.

I am relieved that I have more time to recuperate.

cuff cellulitis

I'd like to know also how do you know about cuff cellulitis. I'm going in for my 2 week tomorrow and I called the nurse yesterday. I'm having swelling in the middle of my incision..a little redness but it stretches down toward the pubic area.
This post-op is pretty strange because I'm also getting stretch marks because of the swelly belly, where I've never had them before.

I had a fever that was reaching 100+ on and off for two days, even with Tylenol. I really didn't have any pain but I do think some women get abdominal pain with this, too. Some have nasty-smelling drainage (infection), but I didn't notice this. I've had drainage off and on since my hysterectomy on 9/2, different colors, etc., but nothing abnormal. I'm hoping I've seen the last of this. I have a couple more days of antibiotics to take and a few more days of Diflucan to take care of the yeast problem I have now that the antibiotics have killed all bacteria in my body.

On the bright side, my incision has pretty much completely healed, I sat straight up in bed at the hospital without thinking one morning and it didn't hurt!, my stomach feels prettyty good (though I'm wearing control-panel panties), and I layed on my stomach on the floor this morning and it felt fine!
