Adoption Coming

Hi all:

I have not posted in a while. I last posted under the title "getting ready to adopt". Well, I have BIG news. We have accepted the referral of a beautiful 10-month-old baby girl in Russia. Her name is Irina. We have photos, a videotape, and medical/social info sheet on her. We are so thrilled!! But , we cannot go see her until September, due to court and other personnel needed to finalize things all going on extended vacations in August. Then, there is a second trip 6-8 weeks later to finish up, go to court, etc. and bring her home. So, we will probably bring her home in October. It will be hard to wait. Her first bithday is September 18, and we had at first hoped to have her by then. Of course, we will bring her lots of gifts on the first trip.
Please keep little Irina in your prayers, to keep her safe and healthy until we can bring her home. And prayers for safe trips for us.
Tomorrow is my 2-year "hysterversary". My how time flies!!

We have one son- 14 yrs old. We have always wanted another child. Congrats to you and your upoming new arrival

Dear margaret,

Congrats on your impending parenthood!! I know this must be an exciting time for you.

Be sure to mark the occasion on your calendar. We still celebrate my DD's *Gotchya Day* (the day we gotch ya) 16 years later!!

Congratulations - my oldest adopted child is now 18 years but I still remember the bliss of when we were able to see him at 6 weeks.

I was told I'd never be able to have a child so I adopted a beautiful son & now he's 17.5 & has 2 bothers ( I did end up carrying 2 to term )!!! I love to see that adoption dreams come true.... A womb is a just a child's home for just 9 months but a mothers heart is a child's home forever!
Congrats!!!!! I will pray you have a safe & speedy journey & that no red-tape or snags slow you down. Keep posting...

Congratulations, you have had a long wait but it's getting closer !
I have a wonderful adopted nephew - he's recently become a new father himself. He is and has always been a treasure in my family.
I'll certainly keep you and little Irina in my prayers.

Congratulations on the pending arrival of Irina!

I adopted my son 6 years ago, he was a surrogate baby. He is biologically my DH's and my sister's; my sister and I have enough of the same genes that no one would ever guess by looking at him that he is not my bio child. I could not love him more if he had come out of my body than I do now.
