Trying to adjust hormones

I had my LAVH on 7/18. I have been feeling pretty good after 2 weeks. First week I was on Climara patch. 2nd week have been on Cenestin .9. Thursday I felt crummy, anxieties, few heart palps. I had a feeling of making the wrong choice with the hysterectomy.

I am doing better today, I called the Dr.'s office on Thurs and asked to cut my Cenestin in 1/2. Pharmacists also said that would be no problem. I don't see my doc until 8/8.

I have read through these message boards and am going to a Dr. on the 20th that specializes in the Bio-identical hormones. I am looking forward to that. I also understand that minerals are very important.

I have been out for short rides about 4 times this week. Feeling stronger just amazed at the effects of hormones being off.

Looking forward to getting that straightened out. Guess I will continue to take Cenestin until I see other Dr. on the 20th.

My question is how do you know if you are too low or too high on hormones???

Trying to adjust hormones

Hi autumnleaves

It does take a while for some of us to find the right balance when it comes to hormones. In addition, to that you are still very early post-op and my guess is that your body is still trying to settle in.

If I were you I would stay on the Cenestin for now, and see how you are doing when you go to your doc on the 8th. It could be that switching from the Climara patch to Cenestin, your body is confused and trying to adjust, not only to hormones, but from the impact of your surgery as well. It's always a good idea to give any new hormone therapy at least a couple of weeks to see how it settles in with your body.

Here is a list of symptoms re: too little/too much:

If you have more questions about hormones, you can also visit the Hormone Jungle where there is a lot of support and input.

Trying to adjust hormones

Read all you can at hormone jungle. There are lots of articles there that will better prepare you for your dr's appts. Please post your experience with the hormone specialist. I'm interested to see what they do for you.

You are also very early post op. You probably haven't even used stored hormones yet. And you are still recovering from surgery. We all heal differently and what you are experiencing could be surgery stuff and not HRT stuff.

Hang in there. Sometimes that can be so hard to do.
