weight loss or weight gain?????????

(((Katiebug))))))),

I gained a few at first from the inactivity. As soon as I started getting more active (about week 3-4) The weight came back off and I am back to normal.

I also have no ovaries but don't do HRT. That may or may not help with weight maintainence.(the no HRT)

Best wishes,

Pamcat

Katiebug-
I think alot of it depends on what you have done and how long you are down. If you are worried about gaining, I would pre-cook some meals before, and maybe have friends or family bring over some healthy dishes. I am sure that for the first week or 2 you aren't going to care what you eat, as long as you can get it down, and get back to sleep. I made a bunch of salads, a HUGE lasagna, some chicken and rice, my family made me some Pampered Chef "stick in the oven and eat" dishes that weere helpful too. You will hear all about how important it is to drink water and if you can incorporate that into your daily routine permanently and continue to try to eat healthy, you shouldn't gain--you will most likely lose. The only thing that caused me to gain was the hormonal "gotta have chocolate or i am gonna rip your head off" cravings. I gotta try to get past that one still. Lots of luck!!

You are right I keep hearing about the water consumption, that should not be a problem since I am a big water drinker. I already have frozen cabbage rolls and stuffed peppers, in doing this I was not thinking of myself I was thinking of DH who is a meat and potato kind of a man. I know my parents will be over daily to take care of "their 37 year old baby" while DH is working. I have 2 dogs Westies named Kelsey and Katie, do you think I will be able to take them pee pee throughout the day the first two weeks? If not we have decided they will have to stay crated until Grandma and Pap Pap come or until Daddy gets home from work. I just hate the thought of them being crated all that time especially when I am in the next room. They are quite playful.

weight loss or weight gain?????????

Hiya Katie -

I dont' know what to tell you about your doggies, but I can tell ya that the women I know that have had this have lost weight after. My sister's sister-in-law (does that make sense?) actually lost 30 lbs since hers in Oct. Does that make ya feel better? it sure does me, although I can't afford to lose 30, but she is much heavier than I am, always has been. Oh I am not making sense, I don't think, but I wanted to let ya know many lose, and don't gain.

Good luck, and we are all thinking of ya.

Have a great day,

Jess

weight loss or weight gain?????????

I was also worried about gaining weight. I had an LAVH on June 10. For the first three weeks, I had no desire to eat. When I went for my doctor's appointment, I had lost ten pounds! I was so excited and it really gave me the incentive to keep it up.

I just watch what I eat and increased my intake of fruits and veggies. I'm also trying to take long walks at least every other day. I figure even if I can just maintain where I am now, I'll be happy. I get cravings every once in a while, so I do eat what I'm craving - just not as much of it (like a handful of chips instead of a half bag or a small candy bar instead of the super sized one). I've noticed that my clothes feel so much better too.

Good luck to you.

Lost weight before

Hi ..
I am just the opposite, I am already loseing weight, and I don't have my TAH until the 22nd ... I was 117 but I have lost about 6 pounds already ... I can't afford to lose anymore. I have had a hernia removed .. tubes tied 2 lapoS a c-section and my gall bladder removed .. I lost weight with each one of them. I have allot of Insure in the fridge to help me put it back on ... I hate being to skinny .... I feel just like the women feel that are to heavy ... After my last surgery it took me 3 dang years to put it back on ... Insure and 4 bananas a day + what food I could eat.
People think I am either anorexic or I do crank ... it really Ticks me off .. why do people always judge people from the outside??

Enjoli

Its because they are small minded twits! I also think they have to say nasty things about the way others look because they are not comfortable in their own skin though they would never admit this fact.
