burning feeling in my abdomen

Hi wonderful ladies,

I am now 4 weeks and 2 days post-op after having a laparoscopic hyst with BSO and extensive endo excision. I haven't been healing as quickly as I thought I would and now I have a bad bladder infection. My entire abdomen feels so tender and sore and it just feels like it is burning. I find it very uncomfortable to sit up at all and lying down is painful as well. I have done everything I was told to do...haven't overdone, have walked, etc. I really didn't even know I had a bladder infection until I started running a low-grade fever and the lab took a urine sample. I didn't really experience any of the 'normal' symptoms, nor burning sensations while urinating, no urge to go. Even now, it doesn't feel the same as other bladder infections I've had before.

Before I began running a fever I was feeling like there was a pressure on my vagina and my vagina was sore. It still feels that way.

Anyone else experience anything like this? I'm trusting in the promise God gave me before my surgery to restore me to health and heal my wounds....I guess I'm just a little discouraged today.

Thanks for any input and my best wishes and prayers to each of you for speedy recoveries.

I only have a minute, but

it sounds like nerve pain to me - I had this after my c-secs and worse after my sah. I could not even bear my (silky) nightie to touch on my skin it burnt so much. I think it is a sign of healing so I tried to stay positive about it, I still have no feeling in an inverted V from my belly button down to my incision.

Good luck

burning feeling in my abdomen

I had a LSH with left ovary removed on June 6th. I experienced the same type of burning and soreness. My belly was very swollen and I didn't want anything touching it. It was similar to when my hand got infected...I didn't even want air to pass over it because it hurt/burned so badly. My doc said it was due to swelling and bruising and told me to take Alieve(anaprox). Wow what a difference that made! I could tell a difference in the first hour. You might want to check with your doc and see if he/she thinks that might help you. I just know my pain decreased greatly and the swelly belly came down enough that I could get some sleep. The narcotic pain meds didn't help me at all. The anti-inflammatory really helped.

Check with your doc before taking anything on top of your other meds! Even over the counter drugs can interact with your current meds. BE SAFE...call your doctor!

I hope you find relief soon. I know how miserable this can be! A big ((((HUG)))) to you and know that you will feel better really soon!
