Got My Surgery Date

Hi all. I am relatively new here. Originally signed up a couple of weeks ago but my registration was lost with the server crash last week. I had sent an original message but must not have done it correctly as I didn't get any replies. I replied to a message from 'Marcia' and after that kept getting emails telling me I had responses but they were actually responses to Marcia, but I didn't mind because reading Marcia's story and replies helped me. I just found out my surgery date yesterday, it will be October 20, 2003. My pre-op appointment is set for October 10, 2003. I am having my uterus and cervix removed vaginally due to heavy bleeding. I'm at least assuming the cervix is being removed as well - will have to confirm this at my pre-op I guess. I know my ovaries are staying. Initially when I read things on this site it scared me a lot as I had a gallbladder surgery go bad last December so I was somewhat hesitant. I am feeling better about my decision now and feel it is the right choice for me. The gallbladder surgery is a long story, but in a nutshell my common bile duct was cut and 2 months post op the repaired duct started to close. I have a stent in there right now that gets replaced every 2 months through a procedure called ERCP, I go for my 4th change on Sept 29 and hopefully will be done sometime soon. The doctor doing it wants to ensure he has the duct sufficiently stretched open so it will stay when the last stent comes out.

I know how excited I was to finally get my date. I will be having surgery 2 days after you. Don't get discouraged about not getting responses to your thread. There are a lot of them to read. This site is really very helpful and the ladies here are wonderful supporters.
