Too much Wine

Have no explanation for this but since surgery I have been indulging in far too much Wine - It just tastes so good. Of course, it is completely messing up trying to loose a few pounds, anyone else found that it is just so relaxing. I am concerned and I am going to talk to my Doc about it next week. Any thoughts and tips.

Too much Wine

Hi there

I also like the taste of wine and can understand how easy it might be to indulge a little more than you would like to. However, especially since you are still early in your recovery, I think it's a good idea to mention it to your doctor: he/she might offer something else that is just as relaxing, without bearing the possibility to addiction that could come from alcohol.

By the way, you're quite right in saying that too much wine will undermine your attempts at loosing weight: alcohol does have a high caloric content. Have you tried subtituting water or juice to the wine? It might help

Too much Wine

What do you mean by too much wine?

Don't be too hard on yourself. If it's a glass of wine a day then I don't think it's a problem. If it's a bottle a day, then it could develop into one. There's numerous studies that show the health benefits of red wine... everything in moderation... lol

I'm going to post an article on sound and healing in a seperate thread. I know that I'm finding sound is helping me in my healing. Especially helping me through the frustration of inactivity, that I'm definately not used to.

Wines and headaches

I enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, I found only a few types that don't give me headaches (some might say its the sulfates)
I would suggest a nice red like Santa Chistina Antinori in Texas it sells for 8 to 18 dollars per bottle, Kroger has it for 8.99.
I think there is some kind of link with HRT's and wine and alcohol and headaches. So I stick with maybe one glass.
After all, studies show a glass of red wine is good for

Too much Wine

I am a red wine drinker (mostly cabs and merlots) and I asked my DR about this, since I am now on an estrogen patch. I explained to her how much I drink (usually a glass on Friday night and a couple on Saturday night, unless it's a special occasion) and she said no problem. In fact I had my first glass of wine Friday night, after not having any for about 6 weeks and I really enjoyed it. No gulping, just sipping and savoring!
