Need Christian support - scared BAD!!!!!
Hi again,
This site is so wonderful for support and I really need some. I will be having a TAH with removal of both ovaries Oct. 10th. I had the choice of leaving one ovary with my 2nd opinion dr. My DH was so sure that I needed EVERYTHING taken out and I was so sure I didn't. I have prayed so very much and have asked for friends and family to pray for me also. Almost every time I have opened the bible, it has referred to how women are supposed to submit to their husbands, etc. This morning my aunt called me and said her son had told her to call me this morning and tell me that if I had a tumor or mass to have everything taken out. I truly believe in my heart that God has told me to get rid of everything. Then I go to my 2nd opinion dr (the one who wanted to leave an ovary). He tells me that it might be bad with scar tissue but he will clean it up and leave it. I asked him if he was a Christian and he says "Yeah, I guess so, I mean I was brought up like that", then he grabbed his heart and asked me "Why, are you fixing to do something?" I said "NO, it's just really important to me." So, I'll have the TAH with both ovaries removed. I'm 37 and scared of HRT. I am also scared of dying. I know I shouldn't be, but I am. I just really need prayers and support!!!!!!!
I sure hope I'm doing the right thing.
HELP ME I'M GOING CRAZY THINKING OF EVERYTHING!!!!!
Also need prayers that my mass is not cancer!!!!!!!!
Thank you all,
Debbie

Need Christian support - scared BAD!!!!!
Hi Debbie....beleive it or not, everything you are feeling is totally normal!!! If you read a lot of the posts on this site, you will see that there are so many women from all over the world that are going through and feeling exactly like you. I am only 35 and am having a TAH on 10/27. Thank god I found this site because it has helped to calm my nerves trmendously. Like you, I've been scared to death about everything...the HRT, the surgical menopause, and yes, even death! But, now I know that it's ok to feel like that and it doesnt make me crazy to have these feelings. There is so much good support here and yes, you'll hear some great stories, but you'll also hear about problems that some women have experienced. Just remember, everyone is different. You need to decide for yourslef what YOU want.....not what other people want. My mother keeps telling me to leave my ovaries, but I have already made up my mind. She doesnt have to live in my body, but I do. I dont want to go back in the future to have them removed....it is my personal preference to have everything removed now. trust youself! Thoughts, prayers and tons of hugs to you!!!! Good luck! Peggy

Need Christian support - scared BAD!!!!!
Debbie,
My heart goes out to you and I pray that the peace of God will settle upon you and stay with you throughout this difficult time.
Your decision has to be based on what you want...what you sense needs to be done. I truly believe in God having an active part in our lives and our choices, and that He leads us in the right directions...we just need to open our eyes and hearts to see where He is leading. If you pray, and think about all you have been experiencing, and if you feel a confidence in your decision, then I would say it is the right one for you. I use my sense of confidence and steadfast feeling of right and wrong in any situation to judge whether I am following God's leading. If I have any doubts...or "what if's" following me around, then I tend to sway away from that path. That is not to say I would not be scared, or wondering about the future and results of my decision...that is only human!! I also try to pray for God's will...not my own...in my decisions. He knows the desires of my heart, and I tell Him those, as well. But I also know His perfect will is the answer. I don't always recognize that...but I sure try to.
I don't know if I've helped at all...but I just wanted to try and give you some comfort and Christian sisterhood. If you wish, you can email me or PM me anytime.
Hang in there...waiting is the most difficult time when it comes to this surgery...I had mine one week ago today and I can say with certainty that the waiting caused more stress than the actual surgery and, so far, recovery.
Blessings and 's,
Dianne

Hey Twister
Your normal don't worry!!
Here's some good advice a relative gave me so I could cope with the whole TVH idea.
Only allow yourself so much time during the day to mourn and then get on with life ... God will take care of the rest.
( Yes in some cases us ladies in waiting are mourning the loss of future kids .... and all the fear surgery brings.)
I really stand by this .... it doesn't matter where I am I only let sadness overcome me for a set time period and then I force myself to get busy
I hope this helps hun.

Dear Debbie,
I am so sorry that you are going through the "opinion " cycle..everyone has one, but it does not mean you have to listen. You seem so very unsettled and confused..and that makes me very sad..it is perfectly normal to feel this way..but in the end, you are the only one, with the Lord's help, that can make that decision..You are going to have to give the fear, and doubt to Him..let Him carry it for you..then in your heart and spirit, you will know what to do..
I am here for you if you want to Pm me..anytime..trust in your faith..that will never fail you, ever. There was a point last week, where I too doubted my decision..then I ..prayed and then I listened..in that silence I knew..what I needed to do for me..I am going to have the TAH both ovaries removed..I too am young..39, but I know it is the right thing to do for me..
Much is said in silence..take some time for you, and listen to your spirit..Take care and God is right there with you...
Rachel

Christian support
I was just 36 years old when I had my TAH. Yes, surgery is scary but you have the GREAT PHYSICIAN going into the operating room with you. God will be watching over every move made in the operating room that day and he will guide the Dr. Before my surgery my fiance (now an ex) prayed with me before we walked into the hospital and that help me relax alot. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 God tells us his grace is sufficient for us and his strength is made perfect in us. Feel free to PM anytime or email me. I will be praying God will give you a peace of what needs to be done during surgery. Always remember GOD will be there through the surgery and recovery. Take care.
