Color of Internal Stitches

Hi Ladies - I bet you haven't heart this one yet. I have been having a small discharge "blue" for a couple of days. Do you know what color the internal stitches are? I am post of 9/17 and most likely they are dissolving. It is just a very small spot on my panty liner, but sounds weird right?

Please let me know of your experiences. I don't want to go to the dr on Wednesday and say, "hey, were those internal stitches blue?"!!!

Color of Internal Stitches

Christine,
Funny you should mention that. My surgery was also on 9/17. I went for my 2 week follow-up on Thursday. My doctor was very pleased with my external incisions but said not be be fooled because my internal are still healing so don't over do it. She could still "see the blue stitches because they haven't dissolved yet". I said BLUE??. She laughed, "Well, neon blue". She said they were blue so they can be seen easily. Maybe someday we'll be able to order our favorite color.

I was told that I'll be peeing blue because of a dye they put in to check the bladder (and all its parts) function.

I also wondered because I saw what looked like a blue stitch after wiping one day. I am glad you answered my question.

blue stitches

Hello,

I am brand new here. My surgery was 9/23 and I had a TVH with anterior, posterior repair. My Dr. told me to watch for blue threads coming out around 3 weeks. The outer threads I can see are a dark blue.

I have so many questions for you all. I'm looking forward to this message board.

Mine were white - didn't see any until 6 weeks though. Maybe mine faded?
