Feeling hopeful

Hi, I'm new to the B.E.S.T. board but after almost a year sicne my hysterectomy (10/17/02) I am starting to feel like there is hope in getting better and losing weight gained since my hyster (20lbs). My husband and I have started on "Atkins for Life" and I am excersising 4 - 6 times a week. We bought a nice treadmill which I walk on for cardio fitness and weight loss. Also do tae boa. Am finding I finally have more energy to play with my kids. I'm smiling again! Last year, my Mom died 9 days after my hyster, so it's been a rough year. But I think finally I'm on a good hormone regime, a good antidepressant, have a supportive husband, a great counselor I'm seeing....and this great website. Thanks.

Welcome to BEST! So sorry you have had such a rough year s, but I am thrilled you are doing so much better. Sounds like you are doing great with the diet and exercise--it is so great to increase that energy level, isn't it? We'd love to have you join us on the daily thread. Just find the thread with today's date and jump right in. We are a warm, fun-loving, and supportive group always willing to share a tip, provide a hug, offer a recipe, etc. Some of us are verbose (hmmm, that sounds like me), some brief, some queens of few words used in combination with the emoticons, some pop in once in a blue moon, etc.--it all works wonderfully. We love meeting new faces! Look forward to getting to know you !

Hi Beth! Good for you!! I have a friend who has been VERY successful on Adkins. I am doing South Beach Diet and love it, too!
