Hernia Questions Pulled Muscle Questions?? Lump is not going away!

Well today was my first day back at work and 10 hours!

I received the results of my CT back late Friday evening. My Family doctor said everything looked good not scar tissue or anything like that. Said to take Vioxx (which I started Thursday) and put heat on my lump and said it should go down. (The lump is located right above my pubic hair on my left side. The far left side feels like it is sticking up kind of like a U with the right side going down in side of me.) I can acturally see that it is puffy in that area when I look in the mirror tonight. (I am a fluffy princess)

I know that I did a a twice and lifted 2 cases of soda, and 2 large packages of meat without thinking. I thought that it might of been a pulled muscle so did DH and so did the doctor on Friday when I talked to her.

How long would it take for a pulled muscle to go down? This has been about 1 1/2 weeks. It feels like I am almost going to pop int that area. I have alot of pressure which has turned into pain today. I notice that it also feels like it is going to pop out of me when I have a BM.

My second question is would a hernia show up in a CT? After talking with DH and a few girls at work they are wondering if that may be my problem.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated I have another 10 hr day tomorrow of straight sitting!!!

Hernia Questions Pulled Muscle Questions?? Lump is not going away!

reading your post reminded me of some of the questions the ER dr asked me at 4 weeks post (was in there for a bladder problem)...i mentioned to him about some left side swelling and pain...his first thought was either an abcess or a hernia...he ordered an ultrasound (both external and vaginal).fortunately nothing was found (weird though that i'm still feeling the pressure and still having the swelling 11 weeks post)..i'm not sure if a CT scan would show a hernia or not..one would think it would, however i know different scans pick up different things........i would think that the dr who ordered the scan would have been looking for the worse case scenario (hernia, tears, cysts, etc)...i would go with the results of the scan and give it another few days to a week..if its not better within te next few days i would definitely go back to the dr and let him/her know.....i've had pulled muscles before and I know they can take a month to heal.......hopefully you'll be feeling better soon....

Have been out of town so missed this posting. I'm the one who posted "hernia" today. It sounds like that could be what you have. Mine is an inguinal which is similar to femoral and difficult for the DR to differentiate. Got mine 10 years ago but hasn't been problem till I've done alot of lifting recently. Now I probably need surgery but am procrastinating. : Good luck! Trish
