Lost and confused

Okay I am new to this forum and I am very frustrated with all that has gone on.I seriously dont feel any better than I did before the surgery.Whats up with this? I am six months into post op and I am tired all the time, feeling light headed, left sided pain still, swollen belly, insomina, sharp pains with movement,migrains...really bad migraines...ones that I end up at the hospital for.I had one for a week before I couldnt take it anymore and no over the counter medicines were working so this past friday I went to the hospital and they gave me a couple of shots yeah that helped for that migraine but when I awoke in the morning it was there again. Is this normal?I still have my ovaries and am not taking any hormornes ...should I be?I am so lost and I have three children who are paying the price for this since I have a hard time even getting out of bed some days. Please if there is anyone who can help me it would be very much appriciated.I also had been diagnoised with melanomia skin cancer, endo, ovarian cysts, fibriod tumors! Thank you ... and God Bless us all!

Lost and confused

Dear Lori,

I am so sorry you are still having such trouble
I can relate to the kid issue... I have four and sometimes it is hard to care for them when I don't feel well. I still have pelvic pain since my hyst... which I have had to varying degrees for the last 13 years.... I also have had problems with endo and I think most of the stuff I have endured has been linked to that in some way.

You don't mention if these symptoms are new since the hyst or existed prior to the hyst.

You are still healing so hopefully some of the problems will subside with more time. I have read it can take up to a year for all the tissues to heal after a hyst. Have you tried posting in the Post-op forum as well?

You should definately be seeing your doctor about your on-going troubles. If you feel you are not being taken seriously, consider getting a second opinion.

I don't have similiar problems to you but it is my impression from reading other posts that sometimes the ovaries can have trouble after surgery... some of the symptoms you mention do sound like they could be hormonal. Maybe you could ask your doctor to test your hormone levels to check your ovaries? I am taking BCPs but more to try to control the pain than for HRT... I still have my left ovary.

Some other thoughts would be to ask your doctor about checking your thyroid hormone levels to make sure they are OK.

I do hope you find an answer. Keep after those doctors. I am not a medical person.

Keep us posted Lori!!

Sarah
