Libido- testosterone and low thyroid

I just got back from my fab new female gyn who had tested my testosterone levels (for low libido a year after my BSO) and put me on Femring to "unfreeze" my free testosterone (which was in the basement on levels). She had ordered followup bloodwork four weeks into the Femring usage and while I was there, I mentioned to the lab tech that I'd like them to check my thyroid (fine a year ago). The doc must have o.k.'d it because when I went in for my actual doctors appointment I found out that my testosterone levels have raised slightly, though still low and my TSH is 7.5 (the new "normal" level is 3, used to be 5.5). Both would have an impact on libido so it'll be interesting to see how I feel after I get treated for both things. She gave me a scrip for compounded testosterone cream and will refer me to my GP (who I see for a physical in Nov) for pursuit of the thyroid findings. I start with the cream tonight, I'll report back on any effects. I know testosterone, in it's various forms, works differently for different people. I did not have luck with Estratest, but this is a different testosterone, so I'm hopeful I won't have the same side effects.

Hi FG It sounds like you are making progress!

Many of us here have had good success with the compounded testosterone cream... I hope you will be yet another success story.
