How to find free on web Dr. credentials???

Does anyone on here know where I can find a free site to check on any Dr.'s credentials? I had visited a site once before and I didn't bookmark it, and can't seem to remember what it was. I did a search and it took me to one that cost 9.95 and I know there must be some other ones that don't charge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most, if not all states have a website for this. One way to find a link for your state is to go to www.webmd.com to the "find a doctor" page. You can get some information there, and then there's link to the state licensing board sites.

In addition to this you should ask the doctor how many hysterectomies (or other procedures) he/she does each year. You can have all the paper "credentials" in the world , but good surgeons require expereince.
