Infection causing back pain?

I went to the dr. today because I have been having excrutiating back pain in my left side. It has been feeling like before my surgery when my ovary had cysts. Well, I didn't even know it, I had a vaginal bacterial infection, but the dr. drew blood to test because of my kidney. I asked him if the vaginal infection could've spread to my kidney and he just said "we'll see after we test your blood." Is that possible? Can a vaginal bacterial infection spread to the kidneys? Or could a vaginal infection cause so much back pain??? I am confused. I have to go back in 2 weeks for my results.

Hi Tina, I don't know if the infection could spread like that or not. Or if it could cause the pain you are having. Did the doctor put you on medication while you are waiting on the results of the tests? If so, hopefully it will have time to work and you'll start to feel better soon.

I had the same pain. Come to find out I ovulate really hard still and the Dr. said he might have re attached the ovaries too low on my insides causing the pain. So I'm on birth control and it seems to take that pain away.

I am taking Cleocin ovules one every other night. That's the only thing he gave me while I am waiting on my test results. I don't know what else it could be hurting in there, there's nothing left!
