Pain around belly button

I know my last surgery was not gynecological, but it was a laparoscopic surgery and one of the incisions was through my belly button......many of you have had laps and have had the belly button incision, so I thought you might be able to help me.......

I have alot of internal pain around my belly button. It hurts like a sore muscle and can get really painful. I feel it when I'm doing alot and if I wear anything snug around my waist. Again, it feels like it's on the inside, not the outside. Resting usually relieves the pain.

Sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas what it might be? I am about 6 weeks post-op.

Pain around belly button

Hi (((pasdechat))), I haven't had a lap but I do have a big vertical incision that runs right along the edge of my bellybutton... I am six months post that surgery now and still am tender under the incision there. I don't like wearing tight waistbands.

The surgeon told me I have a lot of internal stitches in there and they take quite a long time to dissolve, and they are pulling tissues together tightly there. Maybe it is the same for you?

s,
-Linda

Pain around belly button

Years before my TAH/BSO I had laproscopic surgery and then was plagued with years of belly button infections that for the most part were trapped right behind my bellybutton. Occasionally, I would have a discharge through one tiny corner of my scar. Turned out it was staph infection. (A common infection following surgeries.) However, every doctor I saw regarding this would do a blood test and then tell me "if it was infection, it would have shown in my blood." (Not necessarily true.) You should bring this to the attention of your doctor. If you bring this up to the doctor who did your surgery, don't be surprised if you get a "wait and see". Sometimes they are reluctant to admit to any complications following surgery. It may be best to get a second opinion.
