vivelle help with hair loss?

Hi sisters!

I am now disolving 1mg of Estradiol under my tongue in the morning and another 1/2 at night. I have tried every method to stop the hair loss. It seems to stop and then start again. I have had my thyroid checked and thats fine. I am thinking of going to the Vivelle Dot patch so that I get an even dose. The doc gave me the Estraderm patch, but it was once a week and it started coming lose after two days. not to mention it was the size of Texas. My husband asked me if I could put it on the bottom of my foot. It seems that people really rave about Vivelle Dot patch. Has anyone with hair loss found this to work? Thanks and much love and hugs!

vivelle help with hair loss?

Hey Sandiec,
I always lost hair with any form of Premarin but 3 wks into Vivelle dot .05 I have not lost any & feel great ... now I know first hand why so many sisters love it.

My advice (strictly friendly, not medical) would be to try the lowest dose you can - DR wanted to start me off .1, but I chose half that & am doing great, will try to step down farther in near future as I heal up more .... just remember it takes awhile for it to kick in, so you may have a few warm flushes the 1st weeks or so.

Our bodies are miraculous organisms, able to adapt to so much...

Best wishes from a fellow juggler,

vivelle help with hair loss?

Hi sandiec

I had a lot of hair loss the first 6 months after my surgery. I think it was a combination of trauma from the surgery and hormonal imbalance. I initially started on oral Estradiol, and it did nothing for me---I had hotflashes and night sweats like crazy. I switched to Vivelle Dot at 7 months post op and my low estrogen symptoms disappeared. I also starting taking Evening Primrose Oil with my vitamin supplements (which is good for hair). My hair is back to normal and healthy. I truly believe in the Vivelle Dot, as it does give an even dosage and is bioidentical, which our bodies are used to. Also, Vivelle Dot is small, no larger than a postage stamp.

Just sharing my experience.....I think your thought about switching to Vivelle is a good one.

vivelle help with hair loss?

Thank you so much for the advise. I hate to keep switching, but I'm looking forward to the results. Thank God I have an understanding doctor. I will start vivelle dot tomorrow. Any suggestions where to put it, I have read you get better results on the back side.
