Leep Procedure

Saw my gyno for a consult to schedule my surgery and he said it is a must we do this LEEP procedure to take care of the dysplasia. I am none to happy over this, but he assured me it needs to be done first.
Has anyone had this done? He will give me a local in the cervix (ouch) and then with a thin wire, will remove the bad cells. I, of course am a nervous wreck as I will definitely be wide awake! I will schedule my hysterectomy for January 5, a Monday morning as I can not go without diet coke to too long . It will be a tah and I am reading and studying everyone's suggestions and comments. I will not be on HRT due to the bc in the family. No word yet on my diagnostic mammo last Friday, sigh, I hate waiting! Blessings to you all! P.S. I joined a belly dancing class to try to tighten up the ol' ab muscles, so if I don't post for a while it's because I can not move!! Thanks ladies!

Leeps YUK

I have had 3 leeps done in the last nine months and they are not any fun.... Yes he will give you a local and mine smarted... Then on all of my leeps I had Ephinephine (SP) and boy what a trip that is.... You get a metal taste in your mouth and your heart will start racing a hundred miles an hour for about a minute or two...
Then they ground you down with a pad on your upper leg..... Then the fun part starts.... They take the loop and start.... On my first leep they started with the big then to the medium then to the small..... My first leep wasn't all that bad, but my last two where worse.... Then on my last Colp I wasn't the happiest person to be around... After my leeps I was okay the next day or two, but on my last colp I found myself taking a pain pill for two to three days.... I watched two of the three leeps on the TV monitor, so I new exactly what she was doing, but I do have to say by watching it on the monitor it made me more nervous... I feel I'm becoming a pro on the leep procedure... My dyplasia has been in the high to moderate rage... If you need any more information, please feel free to email me...... Good Luck
