New discovery with ultra sound!

Hi Sisters,

Just wanted to post a new development. I went for an ultra sound today. The first step in trying to figure out why I am still in so much pain after almost 9 months post-op. Well, according to the tech nothing was jumping out at her as to why I am still so tender, especially in my lower right side (where there was a huge tumor on my ovary). She did say though that she was unable to see any scarring or adhiedsons with an ultra sound examine .. BUT .. she did find something - a gallstone!!!

I am not bothered by it what so ever. No idea it was there. There is no connection to that and my tenderness (she mentioned) but I certainly found it odd that as yet I have not felt any pain when eating .. nothing. So now I wait till Oct 30th for my appointment with my surgeon to find out the complete results of the ultra sound and go from there.

Anyway, just wanted to share because I am still in shock. What next?? Geez!

HMMMMMMMMM......it will be interesting to see what your surgeon has to say about this. I am so sorry that, even 9 months post-op, you are still suffering in pain and that there really were no answers found!!!!! Hope you are soon feeling better!!!

Thoughts and ers sent your way!!!

New discovery with ultra sound!

Sorry to hear you are still in pain.

I developed gallstones many years ago, and had no idea they were there, until I had an *attack*, was rushed into emergency, and had surgery the next day to remove the gallbladder.

Good luck on Oct 30, hope things go well... Becka

Poor Sister

They found my gal stones on the op table, so I guess I was lucky, as I have been on pain meds for two years and no one ever suggested it could be that, they found quite a lot of pea size stones, so while I was having my hyster,
I had a gal bladder surgery and an apendix also, they called it the
Blue Plate Special, I called it a major overhaul. I lost over twenty pounds

New discovery with ultra sound!

I had a TAH/BSO on Sept 24, 03. I came home from the hospital on the 28th and I just didn't feel right. Each day I felt like I was in more pain than I should be. Finally on Oct 1st I begged my hubby to take me into the ER.

They ran a lot of tests over the next couple of days, found my liver enzymes were high and discovered my gall bladder was non-functioning. I was then heavily medicated until they removed my gall bladder on October 6th.

I didn't have a gall bladder attack until the night before surgery when I begged for a cheese burger and fries. It came back to haunt me later in the night with a horrible gall bladder attack that I will never forget.

The pain I was having before they took out my gall bladder was all lower abdominal pain and I figured it was from the hysterectomy. Even now with knowing where my gall bladder was it is hard to believe that is what was causing all my extra pain, but it was.

Good luck with your appt. I hope you get your answers soon.

Jen
