Need Support

Hi sisters...

I just found this site, and I am glad to be here. I am 29 y/o and 4 months post-op and feel unstable still. I had an emergency TAH - I had given birth and began to hemorrage and bleed out shortly after, come to find out I had something called acreta (not much info I have found on it). So end of story - TAH. Well I guess I was not ready for this and still can't come to cope...I have done research and supposedly this was the only option.

I am losing hair like there is no tomorrow, mood swings - forget it! I would like to divorce my whole family at times. I cry uncontrolably at times, and oddly enough still am in pain some days - does this end??

I guess I want to know if anyone out there has any info on "acreta" and maybe just some hope on when the effects will come to pass (or will they?!?!)

Thanks for lending a friendly ear!

gemini23, Ityped in acreta and hit search on the search engine. 5 pages came up for it. I will also read when I have the time. Are you using any HRT? It really does help. I woke up day after surgery with from hell and crying alot. Started on the Vivelle dot and feel really good. No more and crying and moodiness to a minimum. Talk to your doctor. If you need to vent leave me a message. I am on here often since I'm not back to work yet. 's Brenda

What exactly is acreta? Is it complications from birth? I can't imagine why you are losing hair. Are you on some kind of medication that maybe makes you lose hair? It's been 5 months for me, and I am still SORE in the whole belly area. Dr said it will take a good year for me to feel "normal". I still get some pain. I swear it feels like menstrual cramps!! I finally thought that maybe I could take the Naproxen prescription I used for when I did have those horribly painful cramps. It worked! So, if you are still having pain maybe you could try something like Naproxen. Of course, ask your Dr.

DaisyLacy

DaisyLacy,
An acreta is where the placenta attaches itself to the uterus and in most cases the person who has this can't deliver the placenta. I did, however, deliver my placenta (with very little difficulty). Apparently, there was still a poriton of the placenta stuck to the uterus, which would not let my uterus go back in place - hence the hemorraging began.

I am not on any meds nor did I wish to take any. But at this point I am guessing that the hair loss is due to hormones??? No one can figure it out - which is scary to me. I also have other side effects like clear mucousy discharge (nice - I know) and cramps.

Thanks for the advice on the pain - I will talk to my dr... and thank you for listening...
