I am so ready for surgery 10/31....

Hi girls,

Well I am officially counting down now. Next Friday is surgery day I can honestly say I never thought it would get here.

I got a new pillow today to take to the hospital, and bought a new book I have been wanting.

I am pretty well set with what I need to take to the hospital.

I am still bleeding from my last Aunt Flo that started last Friday. In all the months that I have been dealing with the pain and the heavy perioids has any of my periods lasted this long, so what is going on? We are going on 9 days now. It is just trickling but a pain in the butt none the less. I keep buying "one more box" of tampons and that has happened 3 times. Just getting a little discouraged and keep reminding myself why I am having this done next week. I am really tired this weekend, so I am trying to relax and just do some "me things" had my nails done today and stuff like that. DH and DS's are going to help me clean the house tomorrow and hopefully that is all I will have to do.

I am so anxious, but getting kind of nervous at the same time.

Hope the waiting has not been long for some of you.

I am so ready for surgery 10/31....

Dear Paula,

Well, you'll have fun trick-or-treating this year! Are you going to wear a costume to the Castle?

I went to my Gyn on May 5 and had my surgery scheduled for May 20...so I had a very short wait.

I had just gone to Costco and bought the large economy size of tampons, pads, night protections, etc. right before my MD appointment. Story of my life! I ended up donating all my leftovers to a friend who is planning to have the big H some time in the near future.

It's been 5+ months for me. The first couple of months, I still couldn't believe Auntie Flo wouldn't show up. In spite of and a few other annoyances, this is the BEST time of my life!

I wish you the same wonderful happiness. I'll be saying a for you on Halloween.

I am so ready for surgery 10/31....

I went into the hospital on Oct 6 because of a very low blood count( 6.5) After having 4 units of blood & Various tests, they finally sent the GYN to see me on Oct 10(I kept telling them I was losing a lot of blood through my periods, & they kept telling me no way I could be losing that much blood from there, had to be coming from somewhere else) The GYN did a vaginal sonogram, & found that I had 3 very large fibroid tumors on my uterus....., got out of the hospital on 10th, had to go into her office on Oct 14, Hysterectomy is scheduled for Thursday, Oct 30....I have asked to keep my ovaries & cervix....they said themselves that I had the prettiest ovaries they had ever seen...lol ....hope that's not a mistake, it's hard enough to give up my uterus...getting a really bad case of pre op jitters. I've had 4 c-sections & a tubal, so surely I can get through this...

I am so ready for surgery 10/31....

I am going in on Halloween too!! I am not so nervous, I just want it all over and done with! Aunt Flo is here too, just reminding me whyI am doing this.
I have almost everything ready, I just need to get Gasex. I quit my job Friday so now I have all week to get my house in tip-top shape. My DH and DD have no idea about the recovery time for this, though I have tried to prepare them, They are in for a big shock! LOL. I have 1 sister that has been through this and 1 sister that is going to school to become a nurse, so they will be around to help out.
Good Luck to all the Ocober 31 Princess's to be.

Hi Paula,

I noticed my last visit from Aunt Flo was the worse I ever had. It's likeshe knows and wants to go out with a bang. It will soon be over. Glad your getting help with the houswork. I remember being so nervous the morning of and surgery was first thing in the morning. It was over before I realised it. Love, ((((STITCHER))))

Good Luck, Halloween Sisters!

We'll all be saying a for you on the 31st.

I was never really nervous. Just excited to get it over with. My surgery wasn't scheduled until 2 PM so I had all morning to wait - and no food! I did some last minute ing...I'm not much on housework

I'll be enjoying Halloween this year...I'm wearing my Princess Crown to work.

Let us know how the Trick or Treating at the Castle went.

Peg.

I am so ready for surgery 10/31....

I go in on the 31st too, but am not looking forward to it. I'm reconciled to it, and thinking positively as much as I can, but I'm sad and worried about the surgery, pain, and recovery. I've only been in a hospital once before, at age 10 to have my tonsils removed. Well, I've visited friends, but that's about it.

Anyway, I thought the wait was the worst, but now time is speeding by and I'm simply not ready to say goodbye to this huge part of who I am, although truth be told, I never felt defined by my uterus. I suppose it's silly to be this protective of an organ I'm not using, but I kind of wanted to go to my grave, someday, intact.

I just can't help shake my belief that this procedure is so modern, and that fibroids, cancer, and all this crap are products of our environment, urban development, chemicals and toxins...blah, blah, blah. I know, way too melodramatic, but that's just the anger spilling out.

I too have fibroids, too big and numerous to count...causing some pelvic pain, but not a lot, or else I've just told myself it's normal to feel this way. Anyway, I'm so happy that most of you will be feeling better than you've ever felt before because that's the whole point of the surgery. I guess I'm worried 'cos I will be feeling worse, not better, but I hope, in time, will actually feel the difference and be thankful, and not regretful to have allowed the surgery.

I'm packing chocolates for the nurses, but don't feel up to wearing a costume, or mask. I'm packed and ready to make the move, physically. If I can just get my emotional, psychological and spiritual self out the door, I'll be fine.

Much love to you all and God speed.
