SUNDAY, SUNDAY.....10/26 (did you turn your clocks back????)
Good morning all --
Brandy and I have done our walk, just checking my email and stuff before I sit down to read the paper, clip the coupons, etc.
I made it to yesterday and came home and did sheets and towels and a bunch of other stuff and actually got caught up for the first time since we got back from Georiga it seems!! Today I am going to try a recipe for some lowfat potato soup with crab in it...........it's for tomorrow.........if Mom comes here to stay after having her tooth pulled that is something she should be able to eat with no problem. Tonight we're having baked salmon and baked potatoes (sweet for me and white for dh). So while the soup is cooking........I can do a quickie clean on bathrooms and room Mom will be staying in........run the vacumn cleaner.......and hopefully get some time in the yard.
Speaking of the yard I ended up doing some work out there yesterday too. And then I wonder why I ache!!
Yesterday was NOT OP -- I grazed my way thru the day, it seemed I could not stop munching. One of those days.
BSQ -- I forgot to add this the other day. NO I DO NOT get my dogs toenails painted. They're Beagles and they told me they prefer the natural look...........besides the polish gets chipped when they chase squirrels. They consider themselves fully dressed with a classy collar on.
FrightFesters -- Sounds like you are having a wonderful time can't wait to see the pics!! Whatever Shirley told you about the gals that were at BEST camp..........is probably true!! I have been thinking of you gals all weekend and I think we need to start seriously working on the Florida in February BEST get-together!
Ok, enough out of me, just wanted to get the day started. I'm all screwed up with the time change. I got up so early, I'll be falling asleep in my dinner plate tonight.
Will check back later!

SUNDAY, SUNDAY.....10/26 (did you turn your clocks back????)
Good morning, everyone!
Yes, remembered to set the clocks but my internal clock is going to take a while...
Ann, sounds like you've got a busy day planned! How's Brandy's internal clock doing?
Don't have any plans for today other than walking over to get the paper. We'll see how the day plays itself out after that.
Found some great tomatoes at the store on Friday and have been planning meals around them so they don't go bad. They are so yummy - hard to believe I got them at Walmart.
Tonight we're splurging and having bacon and tomato sandwiches. Real bacon - but lower fat/sodium so it shouldn't be too bad if I only have a couple slices. I'm more a fan of the tomato part anyway.
I'm eagerly awaiting daylight - wonder what time it's going to occur? I'm hoping sometime around six...
Have a great OP Sunday!

SUNDAY, SUNDAY.....10/26 (did you turn your clocks back????)
Good morning!
Just popping in to say "hi" and "how are you?"
Was gone yesterday to an all day woman's conference on small business/entrepreneurs. It was interesting, learned a lot & networked & brought home lots of stuff from the exhibhitors to read through.
But, not a pretty day re food - the conf was at a college & the food they served was way hi-carbs. But at least there was bottled water available most of the day, and I didn't eat everything that was provided.
Today I will be out doing yard/garden work & helping dh...at least until it starts raining, so it should be an OK day re exercise.

SUNDAY, SUNDAY.....10/26 (did you turn your clocks back????)
Good morning everyone! Ah a rainy day in Georgia. No, my clocks aren't set back yet ... except this computer since windows does it automatically. I'll eventually made the rounds through the house.
Yesterday was 50/50 I think on food. some good some not so good. Exercise, was solid, as was water.
Pretty much a lazy day planned. I too am about to go read the paper, clip my coupons and enjoy some coffee, then I'll start watching ESPN. Not sure when Bubba's gonna be home, so will then be on the sofa with the remote. I GET TO CONTROL THE REMOTE! waaaahahahahahaha.
Having a small group over today for our usual Football party. Roasted chicken is what we are serving. Should be able to stay OP... provided I don't put the chex mix bowl under my chin and just start shoveling in!
Ann: I suspected your pups weren't high maintenance and needed their nails done. The soup for tomorrow sounds yummy!
Sandi: Oh am I jealous. I love love LOVE tomatoes. We have horrible produce in GA. Of the stuff I miss the month from CA, tomatos and strawberries rank up there.
Bliss: enjoy reading through all your information from the conference. Hope it stays nice for your yardwork.
To all yet to post, have a BEST day.

Hi ladies, just checking in! Did remember to set my clock back.......really needed that extra hour of sleep after this week. WooHoo the Marlins won the World Series! I love ANY TEAM that beats the Yankees! Not doing too much today but will stay OP. I have never been more determined.
Ann, can I have that recipe for the baked salmon? My hubby LOVES salmon but the only good recipe I have is for the grill. You can just email it to me when you have time. TY!
Hi Sandy and bliss!
Have a great day ladies........

SUNDAY, SUNDAY.....10/26 (did you turn your clocks back????)
"Fall Back," yes the clocks gave back that precious hour we gave up in the spring.........but wouldn't you know I couldn't take advantage of it! But at least DH and I are having an unusually relaxing moring with coffee, conversation and the newspaper and now watching our sweet dog, Susie while she goes crazy watching animal planet on the big screen......way, way too entertaining........she loves it!
The fires are crazier than ever and it is so heartbreaking to see so many loose their homes and cherished treasures of special memories. Thus far it has been said they have all been arson....could this be a west coast terror attack? Who knows, I don't live in that type of fear, but I truly would like to rattle this persons mental cage; yet again, they probably have not mental capacity, just very, very sick
Emilie, Katie, Pat, Danielle, BSQ and Melissa thank you for your kind words, but please, please don't apologize for complaining about present irritations with your sweet children, it is a fact that we, they can be a real pain at times you know! I was very, very blessed to have them for almost 20 years, some never get that gift and I have been able to be extremely thankful for that. They were the creme de'la creme of young men.........I have many awesome memories that will never leave me and constantly keep me giggling at times. But for those of you that may head to the HRT/NHRT forum, I did have a melt down on the 16th, I had a huge midterm and it would have been my youngests' 22nd birthday and it knocked both my husband and I to the floor......I suppose it also is due to the 4 year mark also........... I counsel people in this area and I had to step aside and really look at the situation. I was not sure if it was emotional or hormonal......bad, bad day.......... But once again, by the grace of God I was back up and living to the fullest..........I just am not, nor have ever been an emotional "gal".......I was my dad's 2nd son and loved it........my mom, bless her heart taught me to be a lady and be feminine while I fixed cars, played sports and hung out in jeans every chance I got........... Live has been very interesting and challenging for me, but I have learned and grown so much and with this I have been able to be there for those who needed someone to listen and be empathetic, not lecturing and directing......... Anyhow, I love to hear what is happening with families, I don't feel cheated, I don't feel envious, I feel blessed.
Question for all you; has anyone bought and read the book recommended, "The Menopausal Diet?" I ask because the more I read the more I am either frustrated or wondering how I am going to get myself, my health on track....... I have been on thyroid medication for almost 30 years and have been fighting to get the right leve for the last 3 years, have learned I have osteoporosis, hate the fact that I will have to desparately fight the "Buda Belly Syndrome" and the metabolism of fats, the chaos with the hormonal issues with blood sugar and fat be broken down to the proper form sent me in a tail spin........... So, Hmmm. I refuse diets per say, I live lifestyle of eating and I don't want to get into anything bizzare, so any insight on this book? I mean journals and articles can say a lot of things...........I just want the facts that are true..........not some magic in a bottle, that will never happen (darn)! LOL Well, better stop the epic here and get busy.......... Have a wonderful Sunday all............

SUNDAY, SUNDAY.....10/26 (did you turn your clocks back????)
Hi everyone!!
Well Sue and Melissa are on the road to return home--they left before lunch Boo Hoo! We had a wonderful time as you can imagine. Very relaxed and enjoyable, lots of talking and laughing and we really were pretty OP, but that's probably the circumstances more than willpower . Unlike BEST Camp in MI, it wasn't summertime and we weren't passing by lots of wonderful ice cream shops, etc. Our worst indulgences were the wine and a piece of pumpkin pie last night. We did do a lot of walking yesterday and were beat last night. Only Melissa could stay up past midnight last night . It was a blast! As far as pictures, Melissa will probably be the first one to get hers posted--I'm sure she'll let you know as soon as they are out there. I'm with Ann--let's start planning that February get together in FL!! There is nothing like the wonderful connections that we make here at BEST--truly a blessing.
BTW, I lost another pound--that's an even 20 now!!!!! Yippee!!!!!!! (So glad I put the bad week behind me, zeroed that gain, and am losing again.)
I want to spend some quality time with DS, so I will have to catch up later. He is experiencing teenage angst, so hugs, good food, and watching a movie together are in order.
Love to you all,
Shirley

WOW-EE Shirley!!!!!
TAMARA....could your headache yesterday be because you are not using your CPAC??? I know I had terrible headaches that had migrane-like symptoms when I slept "in".
Chris...I went to the site www.suegregg.com that you mentioned in your veggie soup recipe, and it looks like an intersting one to explore, as I'm trying to incorporate more "whole" foods...also may be of interest to those w/allergies... Have you (or anyone) used Kamut instead of flour???
I've read about the Menopause cookbook, but have not actually seen it

Hello ladies

The Fright festers have lots to share upon their return. What fun!!
Emily: My youngest moved out a year ago(Has since returned lol)
It took awhile to adjust but after awhile Dh and I really enjoyed having the house to ourselves.Dh and I have only been married
5 years so it was nice it being just the two of us.The big adjustment came when dd moved back after being gone a year.
Awaiting the sound of 5000 bikes rolling into town.Yes 5000.It's the annual Witches Run for MDA should be quite an impressive site.
Have a great night all!!!

Miss Val.
...........5000 bikes how cool..........my husband and I are Harley riders........though we don't look too wild that is for sure.....the average age of our group I would suppose is around 45 - 50 .........we are lucky to have met some really nice folks. There is a fruit stand/farm place called Tom's Farms that is right around the hill from where we live (can't seem to locate those massive profits though, since my DH is Tom....... ) and this is where we go and sit and chat and drink diet coke until we almost pop! Hope the riders treat your community with respect and raise high amounts of money for MDA..........Harley donated a huge amount this year too! Well, back to the books......... God Bless all
Chris
