thanks!!

Wow, alot of great advice out there. You have no idea how much all you sisters have helped. Just knowing I'm not alone is wonderful. Tonight is the night....after the kids are in bed, I'm going to try to talk to him and see if he'll open up a bit. Sometimes I think he may not be saying anything because he doesn't want to bring it up and get me to start thinking about the surgery again (as if that's not the main thing on my mind everyday). Maybe my fear is showing and he's afraid it will only add to it by letting me know he also has fears. Not sure what to think these days, but hopefully I'll have some answers after our little talk tonight. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Why is my DH acting like this??

Yeah my hubby was being one of those "boys" until I let him have it. I was keeping my fears inside so I would not stir things in my home up too much. My dh was getting short and crabby with me until I could not take it anymore. I let loose with my fears and not wanting to inconvenience anyone and let him have good for being so self centered. He got mad, but thought about a day then apologized. It turned him around. He has been much better, asks more questions and has taken a more active role in making plans for my first few weeks at home. He is a typical guy..no saint, but no cad either. I hate to say it, but sometimes I have to really blow my top at him to get the point across.

Why is my DH acting like this??

My DH seems to get squeemish at the mention of womens problems, because there were no visable signs of illness think he sometimes wondered if I was imagining the pain, sometimes I felt like I was going mad myself.
I got a great booklet at the hospital about hysterectomy, I read it and then my 14 year old daughter asked could she read it, I suggested to my DH that he should also read it and just left it with him, later on I found him reading it, he made several comments as he read, "you must rest a lot" walk a little even if you don't feel like it, it will get the bowels moving", cut down on the smoking" to name a few, as he seemed unable to talk about the hysterectomy this was one way of getting through to him and it seems to have made him think.

Hope things work out for you.
