colposcopy? I don't have a cervix!

I had a complete hysterectomy in 1995. Three weeks ago, I had a pap smear and precancer cells were found. I am schedueled for colposcopy October 31, 2003. Does this hurt? What if I have cancer? I only have intestines in there now. I thought that I would never have to worry about any more female problems, here I go again! I have had six surgeries total. Any feed back will be appreciated, Grace and Peace

Colp

Hello,,,,
I'm so sorry to hear what U R going through.... I have had 3 Colps along with 3 Leeps..... I had my last Colp Sept 5 and by the time I walked out of the doctors office I was in tears.... Then on the other hand with my other Colps and Leeps I was fine in a day or two, but with this Colp I had to take some of my husbands pain meds for two days.... In my experience I think the Colps are worse then the Leeps but then that is my experience.... Good luck to ya and if you would like to e-mail me with any other questions, please feel free to do so.....

Have a good day.... Rambi

I had a colposcopy done in march. I had no pain at all. I thought I would have cramping but that never happened. Everyones body is different. I have a neighbor that was just diaganosed with vaginal cancer. She had a hysterectomy 2 years ago. I am not sure what her DR. is doing for her but I can ask. Liz

colposcopy and I have no cervix?

I went through rounds of colposcopies years ago and they never hurt at all - -were slightly uncomfortable being in the stirrups for that length of time but no pain. Endometrial biopsies .. that's another story ....
