TLH - 2 days postop

Hi everyone~

I had my uterus, left ovary and tube, and cerivx removed all through the laporoscopy incisions and not via vagina. I stayed overnight on Friday.

Overall I feel pretty good. Have had some gas pains (I took lots of GasX with me per Princess advice here) and swelly belly and pain but I'm doing pretty well overall. I do have a bit of bleeding but I was told to except some of that from where my cervix was removed.

One think my doc did find was that I had a ton of scarring from where I had a csection which was very unusual. He also said I was very lopsided.. my left (bad) ovary was extremely close to my uterus and my right was in "normal" position.

I'll write my complete story later but I'm awfully sleepy from the painkillers and surgery.

So happy it is done and hopefully this will take care of my chronic pain but I have to wait and see..

Kim

I've seen the GasX recommendations, but it's not a good idea to take anything like this to the hospital without your doctor's knowledge. If any LIW are considering this, please don't. The nurses will see that you are kept comfortable while you're in the hospital, and you don't want anything you might take without their knowledge to interact with other meds.

Kim, I'm happy to hear you're feeling pretty good. Isn't it nice to be back home and in your own bed?

Dear Kim,
So glad that you are back home safe and sound.

It is great that your doctor was able to do everything with a laparascopy. That should help with your recovery....

I am anxious to hear what the pain mapping showed and whether or not the doctor found any endometriosis... but for now get lots of rest and take it easy.

I hope you are pain free in the near future!!
