Can I????(a little embarassing)

I am having my surgery this Friday... my period has finally ended and I would like to have sex one more time before my hospital stay and then the weeks after... did anyone's DR. say that they couldn't have sex right before surgery???

Can I????(a little embarassing)

Hi Heidi,

My surgery date is also this Friday. When I went for my pre op, my physician made a point to tell me that ALL activity is fine right up until the day of surgery.

Hope this helps and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Hi

When in doubt call and ask your DR (can be embarassing I know, but . . . . . better than making a mistake!) Also sometimes your pre op instructions include a betadine douche. If that is the case, then after you do that, sex is a no no.

Best wishes!

Can I????(a little embarassing)

My only restrictions before surgery were to just not take any medications or vitamins, herbs, pain releivers a week prior. I was allowed to have sex. Although for the sake of knowing where they were going during surgery it was my personal decision to not even take a bubblebath the immediate day before. I didnt want any bathwater or ANYTHING (ahem) in that area. That was just my personal choice. I felt better knowing whatever was there was "au natural" for the doctors benefit to perform her job. Is that wierd or what? Thats just the way I am.

I did, however, REALLLLLLLY enjoy that last bubblebath TWO DAYS prior to my surgery.

Of course as always......we're all different.....ask the Doctor.

Can I????(a little embarassing)

Ya know, that was just on my mind to ask when I read your post. The kids are going to a friend's house tonight so we won't have to fuss with them in the morning. Tonight, I have steaks thawing and I plan one last night of whatever we can think of. I figure if it is going to be a while, I had better take advantage of it while I can. I also figure if it hurts like it usually does, it can serve as one last reminder of why I am having this done. Either way, I am looking forward to a hot date with dh before heading off to the castle.

I know this may sound silly but make sure you use protection to prevent pregnancy. You wouldn't want to find out about an ectopic pregnancy (in the tubes) after your hysterectomy. It was 12 weeks before I was allowed to have intercourse after my hysterectomy.
