TVH - a chicken goes to hatch...

I was having severe stomach pains, yet again...my dh begged me to go to the dr. for about the 100th time that day...I told him it would do no good...he was worried that my pain that was worse in my right side was my appendix...

So, that next morning bright & early I went to go see my gp...I went thru several painful tests only to be told that it was a female problem & being such I needed to go see my gyno...

The very next day I went to go see him & went thru several more tests...end result being that I needed to have a hysterectomy...I didnt have any choice...it was enlarged & had prolapsed onto my bowels, causing my IBS symptoms to be 10 times worse he said...he said they would take my cervix due to a hystery of cervical cancer & maybe my right ovary...I wanted to know when & he said a.s.a.p. That ended up being in less than 3 weeks!!!

I was a mess...I came home & searched on the net to find a place for support & information...thats how I came upon 'hystersisters'...this has been a God send to me & has kept me from freaking out, & being even more chicken than I normally am...ha...ha..

The morning of my surgery I cried as we back out of the drive so afraid of what would happen...but that was the last time I promised....

I waited at the hospital for them to call my name...when they did I almost ran in the opposite direction but my dh reminded me that this was worth getting rid of the severe pain I had been dealing with...I agreed & put my stuff on...

I have small veins & dreaded the IV...it was my lucky day that day cause she only had to stick me once...it didnt even feel like it was in, she did such a good job!!

Everyone at the hospital was sooooo good to me!!! They spoiled me rotten!!!

The dr. came in & said that it was time to go & I asked him if I could have a breast augmentation while he was at it?....he said that wasnt his speciality & laughed...we all laughed as they were setting up the stuff...I was ditzy to say the least & believe me Im funny when Im light headed!!

It seemed like 5 mins later when the nurse was shaking me trying to get me awake...I said I have to sleep for the surgery & she told me that it was over!! I couldnt believe it!!

The dr. had to take out my uterus, my cervix, but nothing else! He was able to clean everything up & I got to keep my ovaries!!!!!

I had a hard time right after the surgery because my stomach wasnt liking the anestheia....but I got up as soon as I could & believe it or not got to go home the very next day! The dr. said that he couldnt believe I was doing so well just right after surgery...but I guess that was due to the fact that I had hurt so much already....or maybe God was having mercy on me!!!

I spent my 1st day at home in la la land...but I am mostly on dry land right now...Im still sore & my insides hurt a little like pms, but I am hurting sooo much less than I was before!! And my tummy is sooo much flatter than it was already!!!

I hope that you all have a good hospital & staff like I did to attend you & that your surgeries are speedy & your recovery is the fastest ever!
