Aint it great - no periods !! YAY

Hi All
Was just thinking......as I have done on/off over past weeks.!!
NO MORE PERIODS !!! No more pain, suffering, floods and feeling like jelly and still having to face the world.

I keep finding my storage of pads everywhere of late glovebox of car - overnight bags - drawers - my companions house - and places "just in case" - I look at them & I laugh to myself -GOODBYE you wretched things !!!

Then I was also thinking of all the money you save sisters !!!
Fertility pills, pain killers, and the piles of pads.
In Australia these things cost a fair bit.

So I reckon each month for the rest of our lives - even when we are great great grannies we should all shout our selves a lil something !! A dinner ... a new piece of makeup... perfume...box of chocolates ....a long phone chat to a friend... just anything !!!

I am six months post surgery TODAY!!!!!!!!!

I feel great, my dh says I look great.....and I have saved TONS on pads, pain meds, and no more days feeling like by bottom is about to drop out when my periods used to come...

Yesssss....STILL the best decision I've ever made.

Yes it is great!!! Apr. 25 was my surg date and for a few months afterwards I would have the feeling I was having a period, no pain just that moistly feeling LOL .... constantly looking "down there" to see what was happening. After about the 4th month.... I stopped looking. And yes, starting celebrating

You are so right! We do deserve the extra treat once a month. I'd say we more than earned it. When we are grannies, we can buy ourselves a nifty new cup to put our teeth in at night.

...wait a minute, I AM a grannie.

Hi from a fellow aussie sister - I so agree - I thought last week how wonderful when they didn't arrive - I too am finding a secret stash of tampons etc in places I can't even remember hiding them - I guess they will always haunt us in some way and serve as a reminder that we have made the right decision.
How are you recovering?

hi, I too keep finding tampons in the strangest places. I should start putting all the money that I would normally spend each month on tampons in a jar and buy myself a pretty new piece of glass. I just might do that!

Since I'm only 3 weeks post-op, I actually caught myself looking at a box of discounted Tampax the other day at Target. I guess an old habit is hard to break, and it seemed like I would always have to buy a box on every trip to Target to ensure that I would have adequate back-up supply. How nice to be free of that, and I can now claim more storage space under my sink as I purge out the feminine products. Hooray!

Nope, don't miss any of that bloody mess at all.
