An Alternative to Sponge Baths at the Castle
This may seem weird
I absolutely love unscented baby wipes! Sure, the CNA's do a good job with sponge baths, but sometimes they put in a little too much soap and it leaves too much residue on the skin. With baby wipes, you can bathe a lot of your body yourself. The best part? No rinsing! They were handy when I was sweaty from the heating pad (even strong enough for the ol' pits!). My DH used them on my back and feet...mmmmmmmmm
To be really spoiled, you could also buy the baby wipe warmer, but they actually felt pretty good nice & cool out of the box.
I wish all you Pre-Op Princesses to have DR's & nurses as wonderful as mine

An Alternative to Sponge Baths at the Castle
That's a good point. Some of the castles now have disposable bath wipes, (very similar to baby wipes but a little thicker and larger). They come in micro-wavable packs and are nice and warm when the techs give the baths. The patients rave about them! I'm having surgery at the castle I used to work at. I'm hoping, (and assuming), they still use them!

An Alternative to Sponge Baths at the Castle
Hi Lucy and Jay-Jay..........those disposable bathing cloths you speak of were used on me while I was in the Castle. Much to my surprise at one peek at my incision and such, there was a nurse between my legs with one . The pack was left with me in order to clean myself where ever I wished. I brought home what was left of them. Sure glad I did so, as with the MOM's treatment, one day I had an explosion and they sure came in handy .
But alas, they did not warm them before using on me. But nice touch on that idea, thanks for shining the on it.

bathing at the castle
Hi---The castle where I was used the cleansing wipes that are heated in the microwave---they were very nice. I used those the first morning and that night I took a shower and then they kicked me out the next day...so I was on my own at home after that
