4 months Post op...VERY sore breasts! why? advice?

I had my TAH with LSO and 1/2 RSO on July 10th. Immediately I began the symptoms of insomnia, and night sweats. Initially my Doc would not give me anything hormonal, he said the 1/2 ovary that I had left would eventually start.........when I made a visit to my regular family Dr, she said that she would put me on a low dose of estrogen to stop the symptoms, so that I could WORK with some nightly rest......I take estropipate .625, once a day. I have taken it for approx three months.....

Last week, I began having hot flashes, and VERY sore breasts...OUCH! I thought well, maybe the 1/2 ovary has started to work....maybe I was getting too much estrogen now.....so I went OFF the pills......the breast tenderness seemed to get better, but within a week, there I was WIDE awake again all night long.......I work standing for 12 hour days in a factory and NOT sleeping in unacceptable for me...

so I went back on the pills...

NOW my breast are aching again.....I have stalled on calling my DR, I figure that with taking the pills, a blood test will not show anything.......other than the pills that I have been taking.

Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone have any advice? on how to help it? Even ibuprophen does not take the soreness out.

I am thinking that I may call the DR, I am really getting annoyed by all of this!!! but am leary....with hormones, i know that it is so difficult to regulate, and I don't want to fell any more fustrated than I am right now!!!!

Hi,

It does sound as though your hormone levels are out of whack. Your doctor should be able to do a blood test to determine what's going on and will hopefully be able to regulate your levels soon.

Lisa
