Pain when I sit where my ovary is, help....

When I sit down I feel that stabbing pain that I haven't felt in a while. It feel like a knife shoved up me when I sit down. Could it just be ovulation or a cyst? I am soo emotional and cannot sleep, usually go to bed at 1-1:30am and am up at 7am to get my son off to school. I don't what to think. Has anyone had this probelm? Any suggestions would grately be appreciated.

Pain when I sit where my ovary is, help....

Hi Donna,

I've started taking Tylenol PM to help me sleep through the night. It's a mild sleep aid so it doesn't make you feel extremely groggy when you wake up. I've had insomnia since my surgery, and it was really starting to make me crazy.

As for the pain, I get sharp pains on the left and right side of my stomach. When I do absolutely nothing but sit around the house I have no problems, but the minute I start becoming active the pains start. I had both my ovaries removed, so I know it's not ovulation, I assume it's just healing pains. I'm seeing my doc again this week and going to let him know about the pains and see what he says.

I hope you feel better soon.

Pain when I sit where my ovary is, help....

I'm having sharp pains too where my left ovary was removed. It's towards the surface of the skin. I didn't have my right ovary removed and I don't have pains there.

Don;t have answers but wanted to let you know you are not alone.

Pain when I sit where my ovary is, help....

I too had that problem when I had cysts. I would get the sharp stabbing pain. The sure fire way I always knew when I had a cyst, was during sex. It's quite painful when that happens. And believe me, I was really emotional and hormonal when I had them. Those things (cysts) really mess up your hormones. I would get a progesterone injection to shrink it and felt pretty good for about 2 weeks, those darn things just wouldn't stay away. But I am starting to have those same old pains again where my ovary was on the left also. Have you been to the dr.? The best way to find out if it's a cyst is by ultrasound. Let us know how you are doing.

Pain when I sit where my ovary is, help....

I too had the same feeling when I sat down. I also had pain when I urinated.

I thought it was a bladder infection.

Well I called my DR and lo and behold I had a cyst on my ovary 11-13-03. He saw it with an ultrasound. I have had these in the past.

I am going to ask my DR tomorrow about vitiman B-6 to help prevent these. Usually we are put on the pill for cysts. Well I dont know about after a hysterectomy what they do. I will find out tomorrow and let you know what he says.

Hope you feel better soon.
