10 weeks and Puppy Painkillers

Hello Ladies,

I am now 10 weeks post-op and happy to say I feel completely recovered from my surgery.

In the six-months-to-normal period, I am experiencing a few common lingering effects:
  • slow digestive system -- still need stool softeners and metamucil
  • still tire really easily -- need 10 hours of sleep and/or a nap
  • sex is still tender, but better than it was pre-surg

I know we still need listen to our bodies and pay attention so we don't over do. I know my body is still telling me when I've done too much and need to take it easy. I still need a nap most days. But over all I'm feeling as good as I could have hoped.

And finally, I had scheduled my surgery for Sept so I would be healed by now so I could be ready for my dog's third litter of Service Dog puppies -- Korina is a breeder for Canine Companions for Indepedence, and organzation that trains and places assistance dogs with disabled people. Having her sweet puppies in our home for 8 weeks before they go to volunteer puppy raisers is such a joy (a fair bit of work too, but so well worth it). Each little dog is a miracle, and helps me to forget all about my aches and pains -- and realize that the people who will end up with these dogs will benefit even more! I hope the other ladies who had surgery with me the beginnig of Sept are doing well too!

Please still take care --
s,

Robyn

My Mom had two seeing eye dogs in her life. The people who breed and train these animals are TOPS in my book. THANKS
