Nov 9th is my date, so nervous

Hi I am trying to read everthing on this site and it is so helpful. I went down to Barnes & Noble today but they didn't have the book, said it would be 4 to 6 weeks to roder it. Thought if I read it, it would put my mind at ease. I am so not focused. There is way too much time to think about this. Don't know what to do first. I am going to have repairs and my uterus out. Scared to death. Trying to prepare but can't focus.

What book are you looking for? If its Kathy's book, "Through the Land of Hyster" you can order it from Amazon. When I ordered my copy, I had it delivered in 2 days. It cost a little more but I was very eager to get it.

Have you read the info under the pull down menus on the main page? There are lists you can review - things to take to the Castle, things to have ready at home, etc. You might regain your focus if you are working with a list rather then trying to keep everything in your head.

Keep reading the message boards and post your concerns. The women on this site are terrific and can offer you a lot of reassurance.

Hi Barb,

Try ordering the book from Amazon, I know there's a link from the sight here and it will help keep Hyster Sisters up & running. It also seems to me that the sisters who ordered the book from A.c got it within a few day.

Pre-op it tough for me to focus on anything that wasn't surgery related. I seemed to lived here at the Hyster Sister site. So pull up a chair and stay awhile. The other thing I'd do is download AIM if don't already have it. There's plenty of sisters both post & pre-op that are always ready to chat.


There is life after a hysterectomy and it is GREAT!
