How Long Till I Feel Better?

I've been reading all the letters from all of you, has anyone's DR. made them feel like their pain isn't really that bad PO, and they should be fine by now. I'm 2wks PO, and I realize it'll take time, he sent me home with 20 percocet, then said take advil. Wound up in the ER 4 days ago, because I complained about the pain, he wanted me checked out, they gave me more percocets, but I was bothered that my word to him wasn't enough. Has this happened to anyone else? By the way, I had a TAH. Thanks in advance.

I didn't need more than Tylenol for this one, but I had surgery 16 years ago and needed more pain killers when they ran out. My doc made me come in and see her before she would re prescribe. I think they just worry about addiction stuff...

I had a TAH too. I have to say that I was lucky not to suffer very much from the pain afterwards, but everyone is different and I know that for some women it is a LOT worse.

I would look at your doctor's behaviour as being cautious in your favour - I think it was nice that he want you to have a check up - that way they could be sure there was nothing extraordinary going wrong.

I personally feel better about a doctor who will have a look before giving out more medication.
