breast lump
Hello ladies
I previously posted that I had tried the Estradot patch for almost 2 months but had to stop as my endo was starting up again.
I was having terrible pain and swelling in my remaining ovary. The pain has been getting much better since stopping the patch Oct. 20th.
The other problem that seems to have been triggered was my fibrocystic breasts. I currently have a large cyst in my left breast. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow. It was odd how I found it. I was sound asleep and woke up with an itch right in that spot. Luckily that happened because when I'm standing and do an exam it is very hard to find.
The lump is hard and doesn't hurt to push on however I'm constantly feeling pain in that area. Sometimes it feels like an itch or burn.
I'm feeling nervous about this and hope that it turns out to be nothing. My mother passed away from breast cancer so I'm always freaked out when I find a lump.
I haven't had these symptoms before, have any of you?
Thank you for any advice you can offer.

breast lump
i have a large lump in my right breast and even though there are no cases of breast cancer in my families history,it scares me. i have the fibrocystic breast also and that one lump does ,at times, kinda itch and hurt at the same time. i usually notice this right before both of my breasts get sore . i had a mammogram 2 years ago and she said that the lump was ok but everytime it hurts or itches it makes me nervous.i guess i should go get it checked again but i am afraid to.I did have a physical this year and my gyn did a breast exam and she didn't say anything when she found it so i am assuming it is ok.mine like yours, is not hard.the lady that did the mamm. said cancer felt like a really hard marble and my lump does not feel like that.

breast lump
I have fibrocystic breasts, and when my estrogen dose was too high, boy did I notice it in my breasts---especially my left one. It's hard for me to discern (when my breasts are sore)--what is normal "lumpiness" and what may be different. I stay on top of having my mammograms done every year, am about due for one again.
Good that you are seeing your doctor tomorrow and have an assessment. Let us know what you find out.

I have had 3 lumps removed two from the right breast and 1 from the left. They were all B-9, My thoughts are: Lumps belong in a JAR not in our breasts. God didnt put them there and I dont want them there. My sister in-law had 4 lumps removed and all were B-9 but the 5th one was cancer. She is so glad that every time she found a lump she had them removed if she didntOR if she stoped after the first 3 or 4 came back no cancer she would have never known. Just my 2 cents

My mom died of breast cancer nearly 39 yrs ago and her half-sister got it 6 years ago (at age 75). She's doing well.
My dad's mom died of ovarian cancer, and both her sons died of early prostate cancer.
I can relate to your feelings. I've had 5 or 6 biopsies. Right now I want the genetic test for the genes, but can't afford it ($2800). If I found out that I had the gene, I would have a prophylactic mastectomy. I would LOVE not to worry about it!
I am praying for you. Let us know what the doctor says.

breast lump
Hello ladies,
Unfortunately I had to change my appointment to Monday morning I'll just have to preoccupy myself over the weekend. I will update you after my appointment.
Because I have a history of fibrocystic lumps is it safe for the doctor to assume that this is the same or should he do further tests?
My concern is that I sometimes feel like I am following in my mothers genetic footsteps. She had endometriosis and at 35 had her hysterectomy. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 42 and passed away at 53.
I was 32 last year when I had my hysterectomy for endo After my problems with Estradot and given my mothers history I have firmly decided not to risk HRT again. I hope that this will break the family cycle.
Thank you all for your support, I really appreciate it.

My mom got cancer at 44 and died at 50. I was SO THRILLED to make it past 50, so I really relate to what you are saying.
You must tell yourself that you are far more educated than your mom was. Things have changed, and you are more on top of things. No matter how vigilant your mom was, it was still a while ago.
Praying for you!

Your doctor will surely do whatever tests he feels need to be done, given your family history. Make sure you discuss all of your concerns with him/her.
Do keep us posted on what you find out on Monday.

breast lump
Hello
I saw my doctor this morning and found out that I have 3 lumps. 2 of them are beside each other so he thinks that the itching and burning is from nerves being irritated from the swelling and pressure. He checked them all and feels that they are definately fibrocystic. I will get a routine ultrasound in the new year to monitor my breasts. I just want the pain to go away, it's affecting my sleep.
Does anyone know how long it will take to get rid of the Estradot in my system? Also does anyone know if eating tofu can affect fibrocystic breasts?
Thank you for all your support and advice.

I have no knowledge of tofu.
However, because of our family history of breast cancer, I avoid tofu and any other concentrated soy food.
If soy can mimic the good effects of estrogen, it might mimic the bad ones as well.
